Mount offers distinct points of interest for planning your trip: a war memorial with architectural detail, community activities at Jubilee Hall and walking trails nearby.

War Memorial and Church Connections

The Mount War Memorial is a Grade II-listed granite Celtic cross with a sword relief. It appears to have been erected around 1920 as a permanent tribute to members of the local community who lost their lives in the First World War. The cross shape and sword relief give the memorial a distinctive appearance; the date is approximate.

Mount Methodist Church belongs to the Mine & Moor Church Council within the South East Cornwall Methodist Circuit. The memorial and the church point to different aspects: remembrance of the fallen and the church’s place in a named church association.

Community Activities at Jubilee Hall

Jubilee Hall is in Mount and is a hub for community activities in the parish of Warleggan. Local artists, photographers and craftspeople display their work there; the exhibits change. If you are interested in a particular exhibition, check what is currently on before your visit.

Individuals and groups from Warleggan and beyond can hire the hall for events or other purposes, subject to availability. If you are planning an event, check availability in advance.

The Mount Reading & Community Room has a snooker table and two dartboards. Guests can try out the room before joining, if invited by a member; arrange your visit in advance. The Whistleblowers Recorder Group rehearses regularly at Jubilee Hall, usually on Tuesday afternoons from 2 pm. If you would like to take part, enquire in advance.

Classes and Event Dates

Pilates takes place every Tuesday at 12 pm at Warleggan Jubilee Hall. The class is open to women and men of all experience levels, including beginners. Confirm the time and booking arrangements before travelling.

For February and March 2026, gentle stretching yoga for beginners was scheduled on Thursdays and Yoga Flow on Fridays. The two Friday sessions ran from 8 to 9 am and from 9:15 to 10:15 am. If you are planning your trip around a class, check the current schedule.

The Big Little Do in the Field is an annual community festival held in the field opposite Jubilee Hall. If the festival is the reason for your trip, check the specific event date in advance.

Walking Trails Nearby

Nearby Cardinham Woods offers walking trails. This gives you a different travel theme to choose from alongside the community activities. If your stay is tied to a scheduled class or festival, plan your dates around the confirmed event and look for hotels for that period. Without a specific event, you can give greater prominence in your plans to the memorial, changing exhibitions or walking trails.
