Tiszakecske: Thermal Water, Tisza Riverbank and Culture
Accommodation in Tiszakecske
Thermal Water and Bathing
Kerekdombi Thermal Bath has two medicinal-water pools. It also features a 1,500 mÂČ outdoor Kneipp garden, as well as a wood-fired log sauna that accommodates 50 people. This makes it possible to explore the thermal theme not only through the pools, but also through the garden and sauna.
At Barack Thermal Resort, guests can enjoy Tiszakecskeâs medicinal water in two pools. The water rises from a depth of 1,344 metres at a temperature of 52 °C; the medicinal water has been in use since 1984.
Both of these facilities have two pools each. Kerekdombi also has the Kneipp garden and sauna, while the depth and temperature of the medicinal water are specific features of Barack. This comparison helps put the different focuses of the two offerings into perspective.
The Tisza Riverbank and Nature Trail
The Tisza-parti Free Beach has a 300-metre-long sandy shore reminiscent of a seaside beach. It is free to use during the summer season; seasonal conditions may vary. The beach therefore offers a separate way to spend time by the water, while the medicinal-water pools are the focus of the thermal offerings.
The NĂĄdirigĂł Nature Trail offers insights into the habitats and wildlife of the TiszakĂ©cske Dead Tisza. It starts beside the ĂkĂ©cske Sports Hall, where there is parking and a small playground. Nature themes thus complement the bathing options with a focus of their own. If you would like to include both in your trip planning, you can take these different interests into account when choosing your travel days.
Church Architecture and History
The Holy Trinity Church was built between 1815 and 1820 in the late Baroque style. Its three faux-marble altars, organ case and confessional, by contrast, are Neoclassical in style. The church has been a protected monument since 1970. This offers architecture enthusiasts a specific perspective: the churchâs construction period and style can be compared with its Neoclassical furnishings.
More Cultural Attractions in BĂĄcs-Kiskun
The wider destination of BĂĄcs-Kiskun also offers distinctive cultural attractions. The TiszaalpĂĄr, FöldvĂĄr Nature Trail introduces the history of the Bronze Age fortification of TiszaalpĂĄri FöldvĂĄr and the way of life of people in the Bronze Age. A reconstruction of an ĂrpĂĄd-era village in TiszaalpĂĄr represents the settlement layout discovered during local excavations.
In Kiskunhalas, visitors can learn about the history of Halas lace at the Kiskunhalas Lace House and Lace Museum, admire historic lacework and watch the lace-making process. The history of the lace began in 1902. These regional examples complement the themes of thermal water, the riverbank and architecture with archaeology, settlement history and textile crafts. The BorĂłka Nature Trail in Bugac is 1,100 metres long and features information boards and activity stations such as a forest xylophone and a play telescope.
