Fenyőfő: Hiking and excursions nearby
Accommodation in Fenyőfő
On a trip to Fenyőfő, you can look for a hotel and plan excursions separately. Nearby, the Magas-Bakony is a key destination for hiking: the Cuha Valley excursion forest, with its nature trail, and the adjoining Ördögrét are among the region’s outstanding places to visit. The routes offer different highlights: the Cuha Valley nature trail includes a forest classroom, while the KÉK trail marker leads to Likas-kő.
Cuha Valley nature trail and forest classroom
The Cuha Valley nature trail runs between the Vinye and Porva-Csesznek railway stops and is accessible by road and rail. If you travel by train, check the current timetable in advance.
The trail includes a forest classroom where visitors can discuss what they have seen and experienced. This means the walk combines time on the trail with a place to share impressions. This focus differs from the route to Likas-kő, which centers on a specific rock formation.
Route to Likas-kő rock
The KÉK trail marker follows a steep cart track up the slope of Tönkölös-hegy to the dolomite rock Likas-kő, which lies along the continuation of Cser-árok. The destination is its small cave. If you plan to take this route, allow for the steep path and check the current trail conditions before setting out.
A municipal description last updated in 2018 states that the Cuha Valley nature trail is accessible year-round and free of charge. Before your visit, check whether the information about access and fees is still valid.
