Accommodation in Tokorcs
Tokorcs offers a specific cultural focal point in its Evangelical Church. Here, visitors can see the craftsmanship, the designs for the altar and pulpit, and a later structural alteration. The wider destination of Eisenburg also offers its own landscapes, routes and museum themes.
Tokorcs Evangelical Church
The wood carvings in Tokorcs Evangelical Church were made in 1956 by master cooper and carpenter Fóth Sándor, who lived in Sitke, and his son Fóth Zoltán, based on designs. The designs for the altar and pulpit are by Dr. Schulek Tibor and his wife, Majoros Edit. The carvings and the design of the altar and pulpit are therefore attributed to different people.
There are symbols on the pulpit, altar cloths and pastor’s pew. The altar depicts two angels, the Lamb, symbols of the Lord’s Supper, grapes and an ear of wheat.
The years mark different events: the carvings were made in 1956; in 2012, a tower was added to the church, and it was completely renovated inside and out. This distinguishes the dates of the craftsmanship and the later structural alteration.
