Denarau Island offers several distinct options for a hotel stay: landscaped tropical gardens, sports facilities on the island, Big Bula Waterpark and excursions from Port Denarau. When planning, it helps to distinguish activities on Denarau itself from trips to the islands departing from the port. This lets you plan your trip around the focus that matters to you, without mixing up sports facilities and excursion options.

Gardens, golf and tennis

Denarau Island is set amid 850 acres of landscaped tropical gardens. This tropical setting is home to the Denarau Golf & Racquet Club’s 18-hole championship course. The same club has ten tennis courts: six natural-grass courts and four with a synthetic surface. By planning golf and tennis separately, you can sort the listed facilities by sport and court type. The club also offers a mini-golf course and a bungee trampoline; the availability of these attractions may change. Check their current status if you plan to include them in your itinerary.

Water park on Denarau Island

Big Bula Waterpark on Denarau Island includes Fijian Falls, alongside the world’s largest inflatable water park. Other attractions include large water slides, surfing experiences with large waves, climbing 10-metre-high palm trees and obstacle courses. There is a designated area for younger children. Attractions and facilities may change; check which experiences are currently available before your visit.

Port Denarau and getting around

Port Denarau brings tour operators, car rental agencies, spa services, banks, currency exchange offices, retail shops and restaurants together in one place. Port Denarau Marina is home to ferry, water taxi and cruise operators offering day trips and transfers to island resorts. The marina is also a starting point for exploring the Fijian island chains of Mamanuca and Yasawa. For getting around locally, there is also the Bula Bus: this daily open-air shuttle connects the resorts on Denarau Island with Port Denarau Marina and runs every 10 to 15 minutes. The service pattern may change, so check the current frequency before travelling.
