Mizerna can be placed in the context of trip planning through several specific landscape and activity themes. The lower part of the village extends to the shore of Lake Czorsztyńskie, while the “Zatopiona Osada” cycle-path section runs through Mizerna and Maniowy. Nearby are the “Modrzewie” nature and forest education trail and the nature reserve on the Girowa Góra ridge. Tours from Mizerna can also lead to Turbacz and Lubań.

Lakeshore and surrounding nature

The lakeshore is in the lower part of Mizerna. Nearby, the “Modrzewie” nature reserve lies on Girowa Góra. The 10.43-hectare area protects a naturally occurring stand of Polish larches. These are two distinct landscape features to bear in mind when considering the destination: the lakeshore is in the lower part of the village, while the larch stand is in the nearby protected area.

Cycling in Mizerna

The “Zatopiona Osada” section runs through Maniowy and Mizerna. Mizerna is also part of the Velo Czorsztyn bike-rental network and is a pickup point for the Velo Czorsztyn route. For cycling plans, these are two distinct points of reference: a named cycle-path section and a pickup point in the rental network. Operational details may change; check the latest information about the pickup point before including it in your plans.

The “Modrzewie” nature and forest education trail

The access route from Mizerna to the nearby nature and forest education trail is a 250 m-long surfaced forest path, with gravel in some places. Within the trail, there is a path about 500 m long behind the first row of trees and one about 700 m long through the middle of the reserve. Another marked path, approximately 300 m long, leads to a viewing terrace overlooking the Tatra panorama. The 250 m forest path is the access route from Mizerna; the other three distances refer to paths within the trail or to the viewpoint. Of these three paths, the one through the middle of the reserve is the longest, at about 700 m. The path to the terrace, at about 300 m, is shorter than the two forest paths. The route through the middle of the reserve is therefore approximately 200 m longer than the path behind the first row of trees.

Tours to two summit destinations

For tours from Mizerna, Turbacz, at 1,310 m, and Lubań, at 1,211 m, are possible destinations. Based on their summit elevations, Turbacz is 99 m higher than Lubań. This makes it possible to compare the two destinations mentioned by elevation. At “Modrzewie,” by contrast, the stated path lengths and the route to the viewing terrace provide guidance for planning an outing.
