Niedzica combines the culture of the Spisz region with activities on the water and several cycling and horse-riding routes. The Spichlerz’s seasonal opening hours are an important consideration when planning your visit.
Spisz Culture and Historical Exhibitions
The museum complex at Niedzica Castle includes a wooden granary dating from the 18th century. It is located about 150 metres from the castle and houses an ethnographic exhibition on the culture of the Spisz region. According to the current schedule, the granary is open daily from 1 May to 30 September, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; it is closed outside this period. Check the opening hours before travelling to ensure your visit falls within the stated season.
The Bacówka Edukacyjna, built in 2019, is a small centre for ecological and cultural education. It presents the history and culture of pastoral farming. The Bacówka displays authentic equipment used for pastoral farming and for making regional products such as Oscypek and Bundz. This gives shepherding culture a tangible connection to regional products.
The Wozownia in Niedzica-Zamek presents historic horse-drawn vehicles from 1900 to 1939, including carriages and sleighs. The Miniature Park in Niedzica-Zamek displays notable buildings of the Podtatra region at a scale of 1:20. The models include the castles of Dunajec, Lubowla, Orawa, Czorsztyn and Pieniny, the Red Monastery, the church in Dębno, and the manor houses of the Tetmajer and Uznański families.
