If you’re looking for a hotel in Ząb, it helps to first decide what kind of stay you want: Should local culture be the focus, would you like to explore different walking paths, or are you mainly interested in the panoramas? Ząb offers something for all three. The wooden St. Anne’s Church and the Zbójnicek regional ensemble provide specific cultural landmarks; routes towards Tatarów and Gubałówka offer different walking destinations. There are also views across several mountain ranges and landscapes.

Cultural history in Ząb

The wooden St. Anne’s Church was consecrated on September 15, 1921. Its main altar was created by Wojciech Brzega. This gives the church both a precisely dated point of reference and a specific furnishing with a named creator. In 1964, Maria Stoch founded the Zbójnicek regional ensemble in Ząb. The church and the ensemble represent different aspects of the town’s cultural character: sacred architecture and an altar on the one hand, a regional ensemble on the other. If you want to plan a stay around specific cultural themes rather than just a place name, these two landmarks offer different starting points. The consecration in 1921 and the ensemble’s founding in 1964 mark two distinct points in the town’s history.

Walking paths and hiking route

The walking routes can be distinguished mainly by their direction. One route leads from the church towards the cemetery, then continues along the ridge towards Tatarów. Another walking path passes through Ząb towards Gubałówka. The green PTTK-marked Zakopane–Kotelnica–Szaflary D47 hiking trail also passes through the town. This gives you two walking-path directions and one explicitly named, marked hiking route. If you’re looking for a walk with a clearly specified route, the church, cemetery and Tatarów indicate a different direction from the path to Gubałówka; D47, in turn, can be identified by its name and green markings.

Panoramic views and other points of interest

From Ząb, views extend across the panorama of the Tatras, the Babia Góra Massif and Orawa, the Gorce Mountains with Turbacz, and the Pieniny Mountains. For travelers who value expansive panoramas when choosing where to stay, this range of views is a concrete consideration. You can consider the panorama as a selection criterion alongside culture and walking paths.

Another point to consider when planning is the Potoczki ski lift on the eastern side of Ząb, at an elevation of 980 m. Before your trip, check whether the lift is operating at the time of your visit. On September 11, 2023, the municipality described the playground in Ząb as part of a cultural walking trail. Its landscape-architecture features draw on the traditional farming practices of the Gorals. Check the playground’s current condition before visiting.
