Jaszczurowa offers a range of reasons to plan a trip: a historic castle and park ensemble, an unmarked route to Leskowiec, and boat trips and rentals on Jezioro Mucharskie. Which of these appeals to you most will shape the focus of your stay. The differences below will help you consider culture, hiking and time on the water as separate options.

Castle and park ensemble and memorial room

The castle and park ensemble in Jaszczurowa holds significant historical importance in the Nadskawie region. Its high-quality architectural and landscape composition preserves features of an English landscape garden. Access arrangements are an important consideration when planning a visit: the grounds are privately owned, access is limited, and they can be viewed from the outside. The combination of architecture and park design distinguishes the ensemble from a single historic building.

Another cultural landmark is the memorial room dedicated to the writer Janina Barbara Górkiewiczowa. Established in 2007, it is located in the primary school in Jaszczurowa. Unlike the castle and park ensemble, the focus here is not on landscape design but on commemorating an individual writer.

Trails to Leskowiec and around the lake

The route to Leskowiec (922 m) starts at the last PKS bus stop, Jaszczurowa (Pętla). From there, it follows a gravel road to the Dudówka settlement and then runs along the Jaszczurówka stream. The route is unmarked. The bus stop, settlement and stream indicate the route's sequence but do not replace trail markings.

At Jezioro Mucharskie and in its immediate surroundings, three hiking trails lead to peaks in the Beskid Makowski and Beskid Mały. The Beskid Makowski peaks are Jaroszowicka Góra (541 m), Starowidz (534 m) and Chełm (603 m); in the Beskid Mały are Żmijowa (595 m), Gołuszkowa Góra (715 m) and Magurka Ponikiewska (790 m). At 790 m, Magurka Ponikiewska is the highest of the six peaks listed; in the Beskid Makowski, Chełm is the highest of the three listed. If you want to compare peaks, you can use their elevations and mountain ranges as a guide. The route to Leskowiec is different: it is a single route with a specific sequence and no markings.

Boat trips and rentals on Jezioro Mucharskie

At the lake, boat trips and rentals offer different ways to spend time on the water. 45-minute round trips on Jezioro Mucharskie depart from and return to the Jaszczurowa harbor. They run aboard the “Róża Wiatrów” ship or the “Szafir” gondola. Przystań WindMill rents pedal boats, electric pedal boats, kayaks, electric Chillboat boats and jet skis. If you prefer a boat trip with a clearly specified duration, the round trip's length is stated; the rental service, by contrast, offers several types of watercraft.

Seasonal boat trip schedules may change; check the times before planning your visit. For WindMill rentals, check the current seasonal operating hours directly with the operator.
