The collegiate church, paths along the Grabia River and the Museum of History give Łask several distinct sides: architecture, outdoor activities and local history. If you are planning a hotel stay, these highlights can help you choose when to visit. There are also summer activities by the water, local festival traditions and railway stations from which you can reach the Grabia.

Church, History and Trails

The Collegiate Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Michael the Archangel was built in the late Gothic style between 1517 and 1523. The 318-kilometre Szlak Rowerowy Ziemi Sieradzkiej cycling route also passes through Łask and highlights the collegiate church. The building is therefore both a landmark in the town’s history and a named reference point on a longer cycling route.

The yellow Mill Trail along the Grabia is 36 kilometres long and suitable for walkers and cyclists. It combines preserved mill architecture with the natural surroundings of the Warta-Widawka Landscape Park. The described route starts at the railway station in the Kolumna district, passes through the Grabia Valley and the centre of Łask, and ends in Siedlce Łaskie. The green Szlak Turystyczny Okolic Pabianic hiking trail is about 26 kilometres long, is accessible to cyclists and connects Łask with Pabianice. Another reference point is the Pabianice Trail, which ends at Łask railway station.

Museum and Kolumna

The Museum of the History of Łask has five exhibition rooms. They include the exhibition “From the History of the Town and Region” and the permanent exhibition “Town of Las-Kolumna – Extraordinary Stories”. In the courtyard, an open-air exhibition of old agricultural tools is displayed beneath a covered shelter. The museum also offers workshops for children and themed historical walks around the town. Check in advance whether these activities are taking place on your travel dates.

For a different perspective on Łask, visit the Kolumna district, where wooden villas with verandas were built for summer visitors in the 1930s. Many feature architecture known as the Swiss style. Kolumna thus brings together historic architectural styles and the houses’ former use as summer residences.

The Grabia and Nature in the Municipality

In Łask municipality, the Grabia Valley is considered its greatest natural and tourist attraction. The entire stretch of the Grabia within the municipality, along with its tributaries Końska and Pałusznica and the surrounding forests, lies within the protected landscape area. In the vicinity of your destination, you can explore the valley on foot, by bicycle, on horseback or by kayak.

The “Las-Kolumna” natural and landscape complex covers 365 hectares. It was established in 1993 to protect the old pine forest. At the “Zajączek” municipal outdoor swimming pool is a reservoir of about two hectares, formed by the Grabia and Pisia rivers. It has a supervised bathing area with a beach; kayaks and smaller sports and leisure equipment are available for hire during the summer holidays.

Festivals and Local Traditions

The Jarmark Łaski has been a place for exchanging different ideas, intellectual movements, cultures and fashions since the 15th century, and is considered the oldest local event. The Rose Festival is a family picnic with activities for children, food and artistic performances. Its 11th edition took place on 5 July 2026 and included trips to local rose fields. The roses grown there have made Łask known beyond the region.

“Pociąg do Kolumny – Akustycznie” is also part of the region’s cultural calendar. The event grew out of an initiative by residents and friends of Kolumna and has become established there over the years. If you would like to plan a trip around a future edition, check the dates separately.

Getting There and Planning Your Stay

Łódzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna trains serve the Kolumna, Dobroń and Łask stations. From there, you can reach the Grabia after a few minutes on foot or by bicycle. If travelling by train, check the latest timetable. The tourist information point in Łask provides information about local attractions, cultural events, walking and cycling routes, and the town’s museum and leisure options and those in its surroundings; you should also check its opening hours before visiting.

If you are looking for a hotel for your stay in Łask, first decide whether local history, outdoor trails, a day at the water or an event date is your main focus. For a summer trip, rentals at “Zajączek” are available during the summer holidays; check festival programmes and dates separately for your travel dates.
