Bogusławice: Stud Farm, Riding Activities and Palace History
Accommodation in Bogusławice
For planning a trip around Bogusławice, equestrian sports, stud farm history and a scenic route offer different focal points. Stado Ogierów w Bogusławicach offers horse riding and carriage rides; the palace and park complex has its own historical perspective. A section of the Łódzki Szlak Konny runs from Bogusławice to Swolszewice Małe. This lets you choose between activities at the stud farm, competitions, history and a route through forest and agricultural landscapes.
Palace and Stud Farm History
Inside the palace in the Bogusławice palace and park complex are wall paintings with equestrian motifs by Bohdan Kamiński. The palace thus offers a cultural and historical point of interest alongside the stud farm’s riding activities. Stado Ogierów w Bogusławicach was established in 1921 for the Polish army on the former estate of the Kujavian bishops. Its founding history records a clear historical purpose; today’s riding opportunities, by contrast, include both recreational and sporting activities. A guided tour for school trips also includes a visit to the palace.
Horse Riding, Carriage Rides and Guided Tours
The stud farm offers riding opportunities for all skill levels, for both recreational and sporting purposes. The offering is therefore not aimed at just one level of experience. If you would like to make horse riding the focus of your trip, check the specific booking details in advance, as they may change. Short pony rides in the saddle, supervised by a trainer, are also offered for children. This differs from the general riding opportunities in its short duration and trainer supervision.
Carriage rides follow routes around the estate. Sleigh rides are available seasonally, with routes through forests and fields. Whether a sleigh ride can take place depends on conditions. Reservations may be required for carriage and sleigh rides. For school trips, the stud farm offers a guided tour of its 17 ha grounds. It includes the history of the stud farm and visits to the palace, stable, indoor riding hall, horse paddock, hippodrome, course, historic carriage house and pony enclosure. Reservations may also be required for this.
Competitions and Scenic Route
Official national show jumping competitions for the Barbara and Andrzej Osadziński Memorial and official national dressage competitions are held annually in Bogusławice. Regional indoor dressage competitions are also held. If a competition is important to your travel plans, check its date separately; the annual event pattern does not establish a specific date for your visit.
Section 15 of the Łódzki Szlak Konny runs from Bogusławice to Swolszewice Małe. It passes through varied forest and agricultural landscapes in the buffer zone of Sulejów Landscape Park. The park is a remnant of the former Pilica Primeval Forest. This section of the route therefore offers a different perspective from the activities at the stud farm: here, the route and landscape take center stage. Check route conditions before setting out.
