Sulistrowice can be explored for trip planning through two themes: Zalew Sulistrowicki, with trails and activities in the surrounding area, and the town’s history, with notable architectural and natural monuments. If you are looking for a hotel for a trip to Sulistrowice, this distinction can help you decide what you would like to focus on. Would you like to spend your stay mainly hiking and cycling, or are you more interested in the church, avenue, oak tree and historic memorial?

The reservoir and its surroundings

Zalew Sulistrowicki is a picturesque reservoir in Sulistrowice, within the municipality of Sobótka and the Ślężański Landscape Park. For trip planning, these are three different scales: the specific location, the municipality and the landscape park. The nearby area offers opportunities for walks, cycling, swimming and fishing. The opportunity to swim refers to the surrounding area; swimming is prohibited in the designated bathing area. If you choose Sulistrowice for its water, bear this distinction in mind when planning your day.

Hiking and cycling trails

A red-marked hiking trail runs through Sulistrowice, leading from Łagiewniki via Ślęża to Sobótka. Hiking and cycling trails also run directly beside Zalew Sulistrowicki, leading, among other places, to Ślęża, Wieżyca and the Góra Radunia Nature Reserve. Different landmarks can help you choose a route: the red-marked trail is defined by its course between several places, while the trails by the lake are identified by their location and the destinations mentioned. This means there is both a marked route through Sulistrowice and trails directly beside the reservoir. Check current trail conditions locally before using the routes by the lake.

According to a description published in 2025, a local association from Sulistrowice maintains the singletrack in the Ślęża Massif. Before visiting, check its current availability and access conditions.

Church, natural monuments and history

The Neo-Gothic parish church of Najświętszego Serca Pana Jezusa was built in Sulistrowice in 1932. Its style and year of construction offer specific points of reference if you are interested in the town’s architecture. A historic avenue of small-leaved lime trees stands along ulica Jagiellońska 2–2A. The trees are described as being over 140 years old and 25 to 30 metres tall.

A monumental pedunculate oak called dąb szubieniczny stands at the entrance to the town. Its trunk circumference is given as 4.6 metres; this measurement may change over time. South of Sulistrowice, in the Wzgórza Oleszeńskie, an obelisk stands at an elevation of 382 metres. It commemorates the Lützow Corps’ fight against Napoleonic troops in 1813. To find your way on the map, note that the church and avenue are in Sulistrowice, the oak is at the town entrance and the obelisk is to the south. The historical references also relate to different periods: the church was built in 1932, while the obelisk commemorates events from 1813.
