Sulistrowiczki brings together several distinct points of interest for a stay: sacred architecture, a nature trail with named destinations, and historic landscape features. Local attractions range from the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Good Counsel to the Studnia Świętego Świerada and Wenecja Park. When choosing a destination, you can consider different interests side by side: construction and imagery, the route, or the history of a landscape site.

Sanctuary: construction and imagery

The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Good Counsel was built from spruce wood sourced from the higher elevations of the Ślęża Massif, on a granite foundation. The construction therefore brings together two specifically identified materials; the origin of the spruce wood also connects it to the massif. A bell tower shaped like a chapel with a lantern stands next to the sanctuary.

The stained-glass windows also combine religious and landscape motifs: Maria Gostylla Pachucka created them with symbols of the Holy Spirit and vegetation from the nearby Łąka Sulistrowicka nature reserve. As a result, the imagery brings together religious symbols and plant life from the surrounding area. These details can be considered together to understand the building: wood and granite describe its construction, while the bell tower and stained-glass windows complete its architectural and artistic picture.

Nature trail and quest: two ways to find your bearings

A nature trail starts in Sulistrowiczki, passes through Łąka Sulistrowicka to Radunia, and continues to Przełęcz Tąpadła. Its route is outlined by its starting point, the stretch in between, and its named continuation.

In the quest “Miejsca mocy w Sulistrowiczkach,” described in 2020, the starting point is in the center of Sulistrowiczki, in the parking lot by the church. In this version, participants follow the instructions on a quest map and search for hidden letters along the walking route. The nature trail can be understood through its named destinations, and the quest through its starting point and puzzle-solving task. The nature trail focuses on named landscape sites, while the quest centers on the map and the search. Thus, the route and the puzzle-based walk offer two different perspectives on Sulistrowiczki.

Studnia Świętego Świerada and Wenecja Park

Studnia Świętego Świerada is located at the edge of a meadow east of the Potok Sulistrowicki stream. A Madonna statue was erected next to the well in 1999. This site therefore combines a specific location in the landscape with a dated memorial: the meadow edge and stream locate the well, while 1999 records when the statue was erected. This makes the well a distinct point in the history of the area, setting it apart from the trail destinations, which are described primarily in terms of their route.

Wenecja Park was laid out in 1914 in the valley of the Sulistrowicki Potok and covers about eight hectares. Its many water features—ponds and cascades—gave it its name. The year it was established, its approximate area, and the origin of its name offer three different points of reference: the date marks when it was laid out, the area indicates its approximate size, and the ponds and cascades explain the name Wenecja. While the nature trail is described through its named destinations, the park is defined primarily by its origins and the explanation of its name.
