Slawa: Lake, Beach and Culture
Accommodation in Slawa
In Slawa, lakeside and beach activities, sports and leisure, and cultural and historical sights come together as different themes for a stay. If you are looking for a hotel for a particular trip, you can first consider whether your main focus is Jezioro Sławskie, outdoor activities, architectural history or an event. The places and activities offer concrete points of reference.
At Jezioro Sławskie: Palace and Beach
Rechenberg Palace lies on the shore of Jezioro Sławskie and is surrounded by a landscape park. Its location directly connects the building with the lakeshore and the surrounding parkland. In Slawa, this means that alongside beach and leisure activities, there is also a cultural and historical site with a clear connection to the landscape.
Plaża Miejska is a supervised bathing beach on Jezioro Sławskie. It has a water park with inflatable obstacles. A second, new beach in Slawa covers 7,000 square metres of sandy recreational area. The two beach options can therefore be distinguished by specific features: Plaża Miejska includes the supervised bathing area and water attraction, while the second beach is described in terms of its size and sandy, recreational character.
Sports and Outdoor Activities
WakePark Sława is a wakeboarding cable system over 170 metres long, with obstacles for sporting manoeuvres. This facility is geared towards wakeboarding; Plaża Miejska offers a different focus by the water, with its bathing beach and inflatable obstacles. Comparing the two options is therefore about different activities, not simply two names for the same beach experience.
Park Linowy Bonobo has four elevated courses with walkways, bridges, tunnels and zip lines; instructors supervise them. As the configuration may change, check the latest information in advance if a particular course or individual feature is important to you.
A leisure area on Ogrodowa Street combines a roller-skating rink with a traffic education park. The facility also includes covered seating areas and bicycle racks. The yellow and green hiking trails intersect in Sławski Park.
Fountain and Architectural History
The Witosława Fountain stands in the New Market. It features a seated figure of Witosława on a granite stone.
The Church of Divine Mercy was built between 1834 and 1836 as a Protestant church, to a design by Karl Friedrich Schinkel. For those interested in historic architecture, it is another point of interest alongside Rechenberg Palace.
Event Dates and Water Route
Dni Sławy is an annual tradition held on the first weekend of August, featuring numerous cultural events and sailing regattas. If you are planning to visit for the festival, check the current programme in advance. This allows you to plan your trip around the event dates without assuming a particular programme for a future year.
In the destination’s surrounding area, Jezioro Sławskie and the Obrzyca mark the start of the approximately 200-kilometre Lubuski Szlak Wodny. The water route therefore begins in the area around Slawa. This offers two different scales for orientation: specific sights and leisure activities in Slawa, and a longer water route in the surrounding area.
