Jedlińsk lies on the Radomka. When planning your trip, the specific differences between the options are particularly helpful: the Nordic Walking Park offers three circuits of varying lengths; the town’s character is also shaped by a Baroque parish church, the Muzeum Ziemi Jedlińskiej and the Ścięcie Śmierci folk tradition event. The surrounding area also offers countryside and fishponds. This makes it possible to consider outdoor activity, culture and the time of year as different interests when planning a stay.

Nordic walking on three circuits

The “Jedlińsk” Nordic Walking Park has three circuits: the green route is 4.7 kilometres long, the red route 10.9 kilometres and the black route 15 kilometres. For your stay, you can choose from three clearly differentiated distances: the green circuit is the shortest, the red is the middle-distance option and the black is the longest. The distances can help you gauge the extent of the walking activity when planning your trip.

The starting point is on the grounds of the Ośrodek Sportu i Rekreacji in Jedlińsk. The park’s routes run along pavements, paved and unpaved roads, and forest paths. When choosing a route, consider the different types of paths as well as the distance. The routes have boards with exercise suggestions that can be followed independently, as well as pulse-measuring points.

The Ośrodek Sportu i Rekreacji is at ul. Warszawska 1 in Jedlińsk, on the E7 regional road between Radom and Warsaw and 10 kilometres from Radom. The starting point can therefore be located by its Jedlińsk address, its position on the road and its distance from Radom.

Baroque church art and local history

The parish church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Andrew in Jedlińsk dates from the 18th century, is Baroque in style and faces east. The gable of the façade features Bishop Załuski’s Junosza coat of arms. The church also has polychrome decorations and paintings by T. Kuntze. Its form and orientation, façade ornamentation and paintings are different features of the same building, giving the church a multifaceted architectural profile.

The bell tower contains a bell donated by Scottish settlers of the Calvinist faith. This connection to the donor adds another historical detail to the building’s architectural and artistic features. The Muzeum Ziemi Jedlińskiej was founded in Jedlińsk in 1996.

Folk traditions, the river and the surrounding area

The Ścięcie Śmierci folk tradition event takes place in Jedlińsk every year on Kusy Wtorek, the last day of the Carnival season. If this event is a key part of your travel plans, check the dates for the relevant year. Its recurring connection with the end of the Carnival season gives this tradition a specific place in the annual calendar.

The area around Jedlińsk is particularly picturesque and is home to diverse plant and animal life. Numerous fishponds are nearby. For a different kind of day out, the Jedlińsk–Goryń route on the Radomka is designated as a one-day kayaking trip. Unlike the three Nordic walking circuits, which are graded by distance, it is classified as a one-day route.
