History and Routes in Łomianki
A monument to General Mikołaj Bołtuć stands in the centre of Łomianki. The town’s history dates back to the 15th century, when the first church was built and a new parish was established, dedicated to Saint Margaret. These are historical landmarks for anyone interested in the town’s history as well as its natural attractions.
The “Spacerownik po Łomiankach” (Łomianki walking guide) follows seven routes through the town and its surroundings. An interactive map of the Łomianki municipality also shows walking and cycling routes, as well as notable places. It provides information and photos for selected routes and points of interest. As map and route details may be updated, it is worth checking the map before planning your visit.
Leisure in the Municipality
Completed works have been reported at the recreational area by Jeziorko Pawłowskie, at the intersection of Jeziorna and Strumykowa streets. A municipal report dated 1 October 2026 describes the area as modernised and cleaned, and developed for recreation and leisure. Paths with an eco-friendly mineral resin surface, a pier and platforms have been built there. Amenities also include benches, loungers, a hammock and chess tables.
Park Linowy Łomianki (Łomianki Rope Park) is also located within the municipality. Its rope courses vary in difficulty: easier sections are intended for younger participants, while more challenging ones are for older children and adults. The park operates seasonally and is closed outside its operating season. Before planning your visit, check whether it is open for the season. The municipality’s Integracyjne Centrum Dydaktyczno-Sportowe (Integrated Educational and Sports Centre) includes a swimming pool with a sports area and a leisure area.

Almost the entire area lies within the “Kampinoska Dolina Wisły” Natura 2000 site (PLH140029). Access to the nature reserve is restricted; take these restrictions into account when planning your visit.
The Ławice Kiełpińskie bird protection area covers 328.1683 hectares within the Łomianki municipality and also extends into Jabłonna and Białołęka. It protects nesting sites for waterbirds and marsh birds, including colonies of little terns. Other species mentioned include black-headed gulls, common gulls, common terns, little ringed plovers, ringed plovers, common sandpipers, goosanders and kingfishers. Access restrictions also apply here.
Four white willows (Salix alba) designated as natural monuments stand on the road to the Jezioro Kiełpińskie Nature Reserve. They complement the protected areas with a specific protected natural monument within the municipality.
