There are several clearly distinct themes to choose from during a stay in Borzestowo: a lakeside nature trail by Lake Wielkie, the early medieval hillfort and waterways in the surrounding area.

Nature Trail by Lake Wielkie

Nature Trail II runs from Miechucino along the shore of Lake Wielkie to the hillfort in Borzestowo (Garecznica) and is about 3.8 km long. It therefore combines a route along the lakeshore with a named destination in Borzestowo. The approximate length provides a practical guide when planning a hike.

The nature trail has boardwalks, benches, waste bins, bicycle stands, and information and directional signs. Check the condition of the facilities before your visit. This way, you can take the listed features into account when planning without assuming that they will all be unchanged on site.

Early Medieval Traces by Lake Długie

The early medieval hillfort of Borzestowo lies near the village of Borzestowo, on Lake Długie, on the rise known as Garczenica. Remains of ramparts and a wooden structure that may have served as a dwelling were discovered at the hillfort. For travelers interested in history, the site combines a distinctive setting with tangible archaeological traces; the structure’s use as a dwelling remains only a possibility.

More Routes Through the Surrounding Area

The Szlak Wzgórz Szymbarskich hiking trail loops back at Borzestowo–wybudowanie and continues through the Mirachowskie Forests. The nature trail is characterized by its approximate length and lakeside route, while the Szlak Wzgórz Szymbarskich is defined by its return point and continuation through the forests. This information helps you distinguish between different hiking options during your stay.

A connecting section of the Droga Kaszubska also passes through Borzestowo and Miechucino. There are several variants of this route, and individual signs may change. If you include this section in your plans, check the route you have chosen on site.

Rest Shelter and Scenery

The rest shelter near Borzestowo stands by Lake Długie, close to the nature trail towards Miechucino. Its exterior walls are decorated with Kashubian flowers. Its lakeside location and floral motif make the shelter another distinct point of interest for anyone interested in regional design as well as hiking routes.

The Łeba rises in meadows south of the village of Borzestowo, in the Kashubian Lake District. Its source adds another landscape feature to the lakes and trails: this is not a marked hiking section, but the beginning of a river in the area around the village.

Swimming Area and Canoe Route

There is an unsupervised swimming area in Borzestowo. Check seasonal conditions before swimming. If water activities are part of your trip, the Łeba canoe route is also worth noting: near Borzestowo, it is navigable from Lake Długie when water levels are high.

After the access point comes a 2.5 km stretch that is stony and fast-flowing. Conditions vary with the water level. Both the route’s length and the described nature of this river section are therefore important when assessing the canoe route.
