Nowy Barkoczyn lies on Jezioro Barkocińskie and is crossed by a named cycling route. A paved walking and cycling route connects the village with Nowa Karczma. When choosing accommodation, these geographical connections are more useful than a blanket promise of hotels directly on the lakeshore.

By the lake and on two different routes

The village lies on the shore of Jezioro Barkocińskie. This describes its location, not a public swimming beach or a lake view from every room. The five-kilometre paved route between the administrative and service centre of Nowa Karczma and Nowy Barkoczyn has only a few uphill sections and is suitable for family cycling trips. The Szlak Kaszubskiej Żurawiny is a different cycling route that passes through Nowy Barkoczyn. Do not plan the two routes as if they were the same; check the course, condition and return journey for your chosen route.

Church and cemetery

The church of Najświętszej Marii Panny Królowej Polski stands in the village. The heritage register entry describes it more fully as the former Protestant and present-day Roman Catholic parish church of Matki Boskiej Królowej Polski. The names refer to the same church, not two separate attractions. There is also a Protestant cemetery dating from the second half of the 19th century.
