Piechowice lies entirely or partly within Wdzydze Landscape Park and is considered one of the villages there with outstanding cultural value. At the same time, Cycling Route B passes through the village and includes it in a 37-kilometre circular route. This offers two distinct perspectives for planning a trip: a specific cycling route with changing landscapes, and a village with natural monuments and historical connections.

Natural Monuments in Piechowice

The natural monument “Jałowce nad jeziorem Lipno” comprises seven common junipers (Juniperus communis), 4 to 6 metres tall, in the area of Piechowice. The protected Scots pine “Sosna na Czajkowie” also stands in Piechowice. It is listed as 16 metres tall, with a trunk circumference of 361 centimetres. A resolution of the Pomeranian Voivodeship dated 9 June 2026 confirms the details of both tree monuments. The measurements provide a clear distinction: a height range is given for the junipers, while both height and trunk circumference are specified for the pine.

Cycling Route B: Circular Route Through Piechowice

Cycling Route B is a 37-kilometre circular route from Dziemiany via Dywan, Sominy, Trzebuń, Raduń, Jastrzębie and Piechowice, returning to Dziemiany. Piechowice comes after Jastrzębie in the route sequence and before the return to Dziemiany; the stated distance refers to the entire circular route, not just the section through the village. The route description features pine forests interspersed with clearings and meadows. Two seasonal impressions add to the landscape: in summer, the air smells of resin; in autumn, heather blooms.

Cultural History and Local Connections

In Wdzydze Landscape Park, the beginnings of historical settlement from the late 13th century onward are linked to the development of Piechowice. The Chapel of Saints Joachim and Anne was built in Piechowice in the 1980s. This comparison highlights two periods: settlement began in the late 13th century, while the chapel dates from a specific decade of the 20th century.

The monument to Alojzy Bruski commemorates an officer who was awarded, among other honours, the Virtuti Militari Order and the Cross of Valour (KrzyĹĽ Walecznych). This personal memorial adds another point of reference to the history of settlement and buildings.

In Dziemiany, there is a replica of a 19th-century Kashubian house that originally stood in Piechowice and served as the home of the Rolbiecki family. The original was moved to the Kashubian Ethnographic Park in Wdzydze Kiszewskie. The places have different roles: the original site was in Piechowice, the replica is in Dziemiany, and the original is in Wdzydze Kiszewskie.

Cycling Route B places Piechowice within a circular route and its changing seasonal landscapes, while the area’s cultural history spans dates, buildings and memorials.
