Psary: Cycling and Leisure Activities
Accommodation in Psary
Psary offers several specific starting points for planning a trip focused on cycling and physical activity. Iskry Psary Stadium is the start and finish point for reported cycling events; the grounds also offer a range of leisure activities. A paved footpath leads from Wiejska Street to Żurawiniec Park. The municipality of Psary also offers another focal point at the launch site on Góra Siewierska. When looking for a hotel, you can first consider whether cycling, the facilities at the stadium, or air sports will be the main focus of your stay.
Cycling Events and Routes
At one edition of Bike Atelier Road, the start and finish were at the LKS Iskra Psary stadium. The municipality of Psary has hosted a leg of the Bike Atelier MTB Marathon series since it began; the start and finish are at Iskry Psary Stadium each time.
The route description for the 2024 edition mentions varied surfaces, numerous singletrack trails, steep climbs, and short, equally steep descents. The surfaces and singletrack trails describe the route’s terrain, while the climbs and descents add to the impression of its profile. The 2024 edition also included a Family distance: children up to and including the age of 14 rode with their accompanying adults. If you are interested in taking part, check the categories for the relevant edition.
Leisure Activities at the Stadium and Skatepark
A playground with safety surfacing was built at Iskry Psary Stadium, alongside an outdoor fitness area. At the other end of the grounds is a fully equipped grass volleyball court. The grounds therefore offer facilities for play, outdoor exercise, and volleyball in different locations.
A municipal description lists six pieces of equipment at the skatepark in Psary. The published usage rules require a helmet and a full set of protective gear for the entire ride. Check the rules currently in force before using the skatepark.
Footpath to Żurawiniec Park
The paved footpath runs in front of the LKS Iskra Psary stadium, from Wiejska Street to Żurawiniec Park. Its two named endpoints make it easy to orient yourself along this stretch; it complements the sports facilities at the stadium with a connection between the street and the park.
Air Sports on Góra Siewierska
A launch site for paragliders and hang gliders is described on Góra Siewierska in the municipality of Psary. An external description classifies the hill, which is about 40 metres high, as suitable for beginners. It specifies southerly winds with slight deviations as launch conditions, including for powered paragliders; at wind speeds above 5 m/s, ridge soaring is said to be possible. The landing field is described as fairly large, with a few shrubs. According to this description, the summit can be reached by car. Wind direction, wind speed, and the description of the landing field are specific points to consider when planning; check the current conditions before use.
