Rudzica combines forest trails, cycling routes, churches and recurring customs. When planning your visit, it is worth distinguishing between the different highlights: one trail leads to Kamień Rudzicki and its history, while another passes through the forest to a chapel and a spring. The two cycling routes differ in length, difficulty and course. There are also annual religious and local events at different times of the year. This allows you to plan your stay around outdoor activities, culture or a particular date.

Forest trails to a boulder, chapel and spring

The trail to Kamień Rudzicki is signposted from Leśna Street and leads into the forest. There, you can learn about the history of the boulder. This trail therefore focuses both on the forest route and the historical site. It is a good idea to check the trail signs before setting out.

Another destination lies along the road from Rudzica towards Strumień: a sign points right to a small car park. From there, a forest walk leads to the chapel and spring in the Dolina Świętego Wendelina. The directions differ from those for the route to the boulder: here, the drive is followed by a turnoff and a walk through the forest. The two descriptions highlight different features, so you can choose between the boulder and its history or the combination of a chapel and spring for your outing.

Cycling routes with different levels of difficulty

The yellow-marked, moderately difficult Trasa A is 13 kilometres long. It starts in Rudzica, passes through Międzyrzecze Górne and ends in Mazańcowice. The red-marked, difficult Trasa C covers 17 kilometres and runs from Grodziec through Wieszczęta, Łazy, Rudzica and Iłownica to Landek. When choosing, consider the starting point, route and difficulty rating: Trasa A begins in Rudzica; Trasa C starts in Grodziec and later passes through Rudzica. The stated route lengths differ by four kilometres, and their difficulty ratings also differ. Check the local signs before setting out.

Churches and recurring customs

On Kopiec Rudzicki stands the restored, more than 200-year-old Church of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist. The Church of Saint John the Baptist in Rudzica is a parish church. Those interested in the religious history of the area will find these concrete points of interest: a historic church building on the hill and the parish church in Rudzica.

Every year on 25 April, local residents pray for a good harvest at the chapel in Rudzica. Another annual custom is Dzień Stracha Polnego, held in Rudzica at the end of May. The event includes a procession and a competition. The two dates have different focuses: the prayer for the harvest takes place on 25 April, while the procession and competition are part of the custom at the end of May. If you would like to plan your trip around either event, check the date for the year in question.
