Chapel and cross: local history on site
Niewiesze is one of the oldest villages in the Rudziniec municipality; its history dates back to the 12th century. The chapel at 16 Pyskowicka Street dates from the mid-19th century. It has a square floor plan and a hipped roof. On the roof is a wooden, octagonal roof turret with openwork sides, a pyramidal spire, a ball and a metal cross. The plastered façade is topped with a cornice and features a frieze of semicircular ornamentation. The interior, fitted out at a later date, contains figures of the Virgin Mary and a depiction of Saint John of Nepomuk. A hipped roof has four sloping roof surfaces.
A large cross dating from 1909 stands at 1 Toszecka Street. Its niche contains a figure of the Virgin Mary in a white robe and blue mantle; the front is decorated with a plant motif in relief. The chapel and cross can also be placed in chronological context: the chapel dates from the mid-19th century, while the cross is dated 1909; both stand against the backdrop of a village history dating back to the 12th century.
