Myszków: Cycling Routes and Historic Sites
Accommodation in Myszków
Myszków brings together two specific highlights for a stay: cycling routes with named itineraries and historic buildings from different periods. If you are looking for a hotel in Myszków, these themes can shape your plans—whether you want to follow the cycling routes, visit historic sites or include both.
Cycling routes in Myszków: compare itineraries and destinations
The blue Cz-7004n cycling route connects Myszków with Poręba and is 17 km long. It passes through Gruchla, Kręciwilk, Mrzygłód and Mrzygłódka. The green-marked Jurajski cycling route, named after Zygmunt Krasiński, connects Częstochowa with Myszków, passes through Złoty Potok and Żarki, and ends in the centre of Myszków. The destination is also useful when comparing the routes: Poręba for the blue route and the centre of Myszków for the green one. Check the current route and markings before setting out, as route conditions may change.
Historic sites and their place in time
The Sanctuary of the Assumption of Mary in Myszków-Mrzygłód was built between 1653 and 1662, funded by Stanisław Warszycki, the castellan of Kraków. It is also listed in the registers of immovable and archaeological monuments. Its construction dates and benefactor give the sanctuary a clear historical context.
The chapel in Będusz commemorates a battle between the nobility of Siewierz and Swedish troops. A historical account from 1936 links the chapel to this event. It was built in 1656 and renovated in 1926. Its construction and renovation therefore took place at two different points in history.
The railway station complex in Myszków also belongs to this historical period: it dates from the 19th century and is associated with the former Warsaw–Vienna Railway. The railway line itself was built in the mid-19th century. These two details distinguish the station complex from the history of the line with which it is associated.

The 70 km Smy-102n, “na rowerze szlakiem hutnictwa” (“by bicycle along the ironworking route”), runs from Myszków PKP via Myszków Światowit, Gruchla, Mrzygłód, Mrzygłódka, Poręba, Krawce, Będusz, Pustkowie Lgockie, Pińczyce, Huta Szklana, Koziegłowy and Gęzyn to Poraj PKP. The names refer to castles, ironworking and natural monuments—three different themes to consider when planning a route.
The green-marked Cz-1003 hiking trail is also part of the wider Myszków destination. It starts at the market square in Myszków-Mrzygłód and runs via Kręciwilk, Gruchla, Światowit, Góra Włodowska and Rzędkowice to Góra Zborów. Around 110 km of hiking trails and more than 200 km of cycling and hiking routes run through Myszkowski County. These totals refer to the wider destination, not to the individual hiking trail. Overall lengths and routes may change as routes are updated.
Nature destinations in the wider Myszków destination
Part of Myszkowski County lies within the “Eagles’ Nests” Landscape Park. Near Nowa Wieś Żarecka, the Warta Valley preserves an almost natural biocoenotic system with numerous rare and protected plant species. Brzozowa Cave near Trzebniów is one of the longest caves in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland. Wierna Cave is located in the municipality of Niegowa and is one of the largest caves in the Upland.
Another natural and scenic destination is Zalew Porajski in the municipality of Poraj. The reservoir was created by damming the Warta River; conditions there are favourable for sailing and fishing. Thus, the wider Myszków destination offers a choice of cycling and hiking routes, as well as landscape and nature attractions alongside its local historic sites.
