Przyłęków offers several distinct points of interest for a stay: the Sanctuary of Our Lady Help of Christians, winter sports, and a yellow hiking trail above the village. When choosing your destination, you can first consider whether local religious history, winter sports, or hiking is your priority. The village’s different features provide a concrete way to distinguish them: the sanctuary is associated with its construction period and pilgrims’ spring, winter sports with lift lengths and ski runs, and the hiking trail lies above the village.

Sanctuary and landscape

The Sanctuary of Our Lady Help of Christians was built between 1896 and 1902, spanning the transition from the 19th to the 20th century. The church stands on the slope of Kiczory, also called Bugaj, among beeches, pines, and spruces. Kiczory and Bugaj refer to the same mountain. The dates place its construction in context, while the mountain’s name, the hillside location, and the tree species make its connection to the landscape more specific. The history and location therefore help you understand the sanctuary from two different perspectives.

Spring and access

A spring with clean water is located right next to the sanctuary. Pilgrims draw water from it because they believe it has healing properties. The spring is therefore part of both the surroundings of the building and the practice of pilgrimage. A paved road provides access to the area near the sanctuary. If you include this religious site in your travel plans, the road is a useful point of reference for getting there.

Winter sports in Przyłęków

The “Piast” Winter Sports Center has been operating for several years on the southern edge of Przyłęków. It has an 800-meter-long drag lift and a 200-meter-long platter lift; the drag lift is therefore four times as long as the platter lift. There are three ski runs at the Jastrzębica ski slope in Przyłęków. The two winter sports facilities offer different points of reference: Piast is defined by the lengths of its two lifts, while Jastrzębica is described by the number of runs. If winter sports are the main reason for your trip, you can first decide which of these measures matters more for your plans.

Hiking trail and regional architecture

The yellow Świnna–Moczarki hiking trail runs above Przyłęków. Its location differs from those of the sanctuary and the Jastrzębica ski slope, which are situated in Przyłęków. This distinction helps with orientation: the route lies above the village, while the other two points are in Przyłęków.

Throughout the wider region, many buildings are constructed using the log-building method typical of the area. With this method, horizontal wooden beams are stacked on top of one another to form the walls. The term refers to a specific construction technique, not simply to the use of wood as a material. This shifts the focus from the individual sanctuary to the architectural style of many buildings across the wider region.
