On the left bank of the Kłopotnica stream in Folusz lies the park for recreation and environmental education named after Stanisław Zając, a Senator of the Republic of Poland. It borders directly on Magura National Park and is part of its buffer zone; it covers just under 2.5 hectares. The marked circular trail in the park is about 2.5 kilometres long and takes approximately 40 minutes. It is particularly suitable for families with small children. The designated “Dolina Kłopotnicy” environmental education trail is also located in the park.

Hiking trails with different walking times

For a longer hike, the green trail starts in Nowy Żmigród and leads via Mrukowa to Folusz. It takes about four and a half hours to walk; along the way, there are sweeping panoramas of the Magura Wątkowska and the area around the Wisłok Valley. The yellow trail runs from Mrukowa via Kotań to Krempna and takes about five hours to walk. The approximate times help distinguish a shorter visit to Folusz Park from longer hiking plans, without implying anything about the difficulty of the trails.

The area can also be explored by bike: the red-marked “Na styku kultur” trail is 52 kilometres long. From Jasło, it leads via Dębowiec, Wola Dębowiecka, Załęże, Osiek Jasielski, Nowy Żmigród, Brzezowa, the Walik Hills, Jaworze, Dusznica, Świątkowa Wielka, Świątkowa Mała, Rozstajne, Grab and Ożenna to the state border. The summit of Walik Hill offers a view of the Ciężkowice Hills as a distinct scenic highlight.

Wooden churches and regional collections

The area’s wooden churches reflect different periods of construction and traditions. In Osiek Jasielski stands a 14th-century church with polychrome decoration from 1840 and a stone baptismal font from the 16th century. In Pielgrzymka, there is a 19th-century wooden Orthodox church in the Byzantine style; its historic baptismal font dates from 1163. The wooden parish church of St John the Baptist in Załęże was built in 1760. These dates provide a specific point of reference if you would like to compare the religious buildings.

In Jasło, the Regional Museum has extensive collections devoted to folk art and crafts from Jasło and its surroundings. In Krempna is the Jan Szafrański Education and Museum Centre of Magura National Park. From 1 November to 30 April, it is open Tuesday to Friday from 7:00 to 15:00; it is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. From 1 May to 31 October, opening hours are 7:00 to 17:00 Tuesday to Friday and 9:00 to 17:00 on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Check the opening hours again before setting out.

Jasło as a regional point of reference

Jasło is a subregional transport hub at the intersection of important road and rail links. These include national roads 28 from Zator to Medyka and 73 from Wiśniówka to Jasło, as well as rail connections from Rzeszów to Jasło and from Stróże to Zagórz. For specific journeys, it is worth checking the current timetables.

Near Jasło, the Jasielski Szlak Winny offers another cultural dimension: visitors explore the vineyards along the route and taste wines from Jasło. The route includes 16 vineyards in the immediate vicinity of Jasło. As the participating vineyards and tasting arrangements may change, it is advisable to check the options in advance.
