Zabrodzie combines hikes around Lake Myczkowieckie with a local history that can be traced through the church and the former Zabrodzie. The trails offer different durations and characteristics; views and historical landmarks provide further concrete points of reference for planning your trip.

Hiking around Lake Myczkowieckie

The blue-marked “Niebieska Łezka” trail runs around Lake Myczkowieckie, takes about six hours and is rated as moderate. One section passes through Zabrodzie. From there, the route continues along Potok Wola, first on gravel tracks and then on unpaved paths. The route starts and ends next to the PKS bus stop in the center of Solina, in the immediate vicinity of Zabrodzie.

The approximately five-hour “Zielone Wzgórza nad Soliną” hiking trail is considered not particularly difficult, but long. One section can be walked in either direction; you can then return by PKS bus. Along the way, the trail climbs beside Potok Wola and crosses the stream several times.

The trails differ in duration and character: Niebieska takes about six hours and is moderate, while Zielone takes about five hours and is considered not particularly difficult, but long. On Zielone, one section can also be walked in either direction, whereas Niebieska goes around the lake. This makes it possible to compare their duration, difficulty and the option of walking part of a trail.

Views near Zabrodzie

From the section of the “Zielone Wzgórza nad Soliną” trail near Zabrodzie, you can enjoy views of Lake Myczkowieckie and Bóbrka. The Kozińca Massif, with its disused quarry, is also in view, as is the Żukowa Ridge in the distance. The view therefore extends beyond the lake to named landscape features and a more distant ridge. The quarry is part of the Kozińca Massif; the Żukowa Ridge lies in the distance.

Church and local history

The brick Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Zabrodzie was built in 1922–1923. During the interwar period, worshippers of both the Latin and Uniate rites used the church together. Inside is an image of Our Lady of Sorrows dating from around the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. It came from the church in Myczków and was brought to Zabrodzie. The church also houses a copy of the Łopieńska Icon of the Mother of God with its original silver covering. The construction period, the older tradition of the image and the church’s shared use during the interwar period represent different historical layers.

The route of a hiking trail also preserves the former name of the settlement: the red-marked “Zielone Wzgórza nad Soliną” trail descends to former Zabrodzie, now the main part of the village of Solina. The historic cemetery of former Zabrodzie dates from the early 20th century and is now a municipal cemetery. Its historical origins and current status point to different periods in the settlement’s history.
