Trzebownisko: Local History and Sports Facilities
Accommodation in Trzebownisko
The main historical attractions include a church, a manor complex and a monument; the Golklub offers sports, fitness and wellness facilities. You can tailor your stay to whether you are more interested in religious and architectural history or in exercise and relaxation.
Trzebownisko on the Wisłok
Trzebownisko lies on the Wisłok River, at river kilometre 156 from its source at Kiczer in the Beskids. The former national road DK 19 runs through the village. The river and the road offer different geographical reference points; parish and church history, historic buildings and remembrance of war victims are separate topics.
Parish and Church History
The parish of St. Wojciech and the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary in Trzebownisko was established in 1945. The church of the same name was consecrated in 1952. Preparatory work for its later renovation and extension began in 1998; the church was renovated and extended in 1999. This makes it possible to distinguish the establishment of the parish, the church’s consecration and the building work as separate events in time.
The Manor Complex and Its Buildings
The manor complex in Trzebownisko dates from the 19th century. Its buildings include the manor administrator’s house (Rządcówka) at Trzebownisko 975, which dates from the mid-19th century. The granary at number 980, by contrast, dates from the last quarter of the century and is located east of the municipal office. The two dates indicate different construction periods within the complex; the granary’s location also offers a specific point of reference for finding your way around the area.
A Monument to War Victims
A new monument stands in the centre of Trzebownisko, right next to the primary school. It honours Polish Army soldiers, partisans and civilian victims of the First and Second World Wars from Trzebownisko. Unlike the history of the church and buildings, its focus is remembrance of the military and civilian victims of both wars.
Sports, Fitness and Relaxation at Golklub
The Golklub football halls are designed for year-round play. In summer, their side walls can be raised so that people can play outdoors regardless of the weather; in winter, the halls are heated. The facilities also include speedminton and fitness classes. A gym equipped with the latest-generation machines and expert support from a trainer are available for workouts. A wellness relaxation zone rounds out the sports facilities. The offering therefore ranges from indoor sports and classes to training and relaxation. As the facilities may change, check what is currently available before your visit.
Weighing Up Interests for Your Stay
The historical topics can be distinguished by their focus: the church and parish tell the story of religious history, the manor complex buildings reflect different construction periods, and the monument offers a distinct focus on remembrance. Golklub, by contrast, offers practical opportunities for sports, fitness and relaxation.
