Stalowa Wola: Culture, Forest Trails and City History

Stalowa Wola can be discovered from several perspectives: a nature trail leads through managed forests, museums and historic buildings tell the story of the town, and trails and sports facilities complement the cultural program. You can tailor your stay to whether you want to spend time outdoors, explore architectural history or plan around an event.

Trails and active pursuits

The “Ciemny Kąt” nature trail is about five kilometers long and runs through managed forests within the boundaries of Stalowa Wola. The Błonia Nadsańskie also offer a way to explore the area on foot or by bike, with kilometers of trails for pedestrians and cyclists. Bikes can also be rented there; check rental availability before making your plans.

Zimnej Wody Park has a skatepark, a pump track and a roller-skating rink. As individual facilities may change, it is advisable to check their current status before your visit.

The indoor swimming pool has three pools: two measuring 25 m × 12.5 m each, and a learning pool measuring 12.5 m × 6 m. These dimensions distinguish the two equal-sized pools from the smaller learning pool. There is also a 64-meter tube slide with a run-out area, and two saunas: a dry sauna and a steam sauna.

Culture and local history

Since 2002, the Muzeum Regionalne w Stalowej Woli has been headquartered in the 18th-century Zamek Lubomirskich. The permanent exhibition “Stacja Rozwadów. Między Lwowem a Krakowem” presents the history of the former town of Rozwadów, now a district of Stalowa Wola. If you want to visit the exhibition specifically, it is worth checking its current configuration in advance.

The parish church complex of St. Florian in Stalowa Wola, at 5 Floriańska Street, comprises a wooden church and a freestanding bell tower. It is listed under registration number A-203, dated 24.04.2007.

Rozwadowski Dom Kultury “Sokół” also combines a current cultural program with a historic building. As a branch of Miejski Dom Kultury, it organizes cultural education activities and events; specific program details may change. The building was donated by the town’s residents in 1906 to the Towarzystwo Gimnastyczne “Sokół.”

The Galeria Malarstwa Alfonsa Karpińskiego is housed in a listed former courthouse built in 1905. The building’s former purpose adds an extra historical dimension to an art visit.

Routes, tours and events

Stalowa Wola lies on the themed Turystyczny Szlak Gniazd Rodowych Lubomirskich. Check route information before planning your trip. The Szlak Architektury Drewnianej also passes through Stalowa Wola, offering a different perspective on wooden architecture. The Muzeum Regionalne w Stalowej Woli is recommended as an MPR—a bicycle-friendly place—on the eastern Green Velo cycling route. Admission to Rozwadowski Targ Staroci is free for people who want to buy something. In the 2026 seasonal schedule, the market is planned for every third Sunday of the month from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Before visiting, check whether the dates for the relevant season are still valid. The market can be reached directly by local public transport or the city bike rental service; check current transport arrangements before setting out.
