For a stay in Gościniec, two cycling routes, a combined walking and cycling path, and the commemorative ceremonies held every September provide practical guidance. Nearby is the Góra Miedzianka Nature Reserve.

Cycling Routes through Gościniec

The green-marked cycling route from Chęciny via Polichno to Miedzianka is 11.5 kilometres long and passes through Gościniec. From Chęciny, it runs via Plac Żeromskiego (Dolny Rynek), Skiby, Gościniec, Polichno and Charężów to Miedzianka.

Another green-marked cycling route, Szlakiem Rycerstwa Zamku Królewskiego, is 23 kilometres long and also passes through Gościniec. It is fully paved; however, surfaces may change, so check current route conditions before setting out. The routes share the same marking colour but differ in length and name; the paved surface is also a practical planning feature of the 23-kilometre route. The 23-kilometre Szlakiem Rycerstwa Zamku Królewskiego route is therefore twice as long as the 11.5-kilometre connection from Chęciny via Polichno to Miedzianka.

A combined walking and cycling path connects Gościniec with Polichno near the school and is used for both walking and cycling. Gościniec is therefore both a point on the two green-marked cycling routes and part of a connection to Polichno that can also be used for walking.

Góra Miedzianka Nature Reserve

The Góra Miedzianka Nature Reserve was established in 1958, covers 25 hectares and lies within Chęcińsko-Kielecki Landscape Park. A yellow hiking trail and a blue cycling route run by the reserve. The two cycling routes through Gościniec are marked green; the yellow and blue markings refer to routes by the nature reserve. Trail markings may change, so check the current signage before your trip.

Access to the reserve is from the Kielce–Małogoszcz road, heading towards Skiby, Gościniec and Polichno, as far as the village of Miedzianka.

Commemorative Ceremonies in September

Every September, the Municipality and City of Chęciny hold commemorative ceremonies at the Pomnik Lotników in Gościniec for the airmen, instructors and graduates of the gliding school who fought and fell in the Second World War. The programme includes flight demonstrations, performances by pupils from the school in Polichno, and a memorial Mass for the fallen. Check the specific dates of the ceremony before your visit so you can plan your stay around the event.

Former Bus Service

In 2023, a municipal bus route connected Chęciny with Gościniec via Polichno. It served the Gościniec (Skiby) and Gościniec (Przysiółek) stops; the timetable at the time listed eight services. This information describes the 2023 timetable and should not be taken as a current service. Check for a current connection for your travel date before including the bus route in your travel plans.
