Sielpia Wielka: Beach, Cycling Routes and Industrial History

Sielpia Wielka combines a lakeside stay with cycling and outdoor activities, as well as a connection to industrial history. Swimming and activities by the shore

Within the wider Końskie destination, Sielpia is a holiday resort by the Czarna Konecka Reservoir, surrounded by pine forests. Kąpielisko Sielpia has a large, supervised sandy beach and a separate bathing area for children. There are also watersports equipment rentals at the reservoir; swimming and rental services operate seasonally. Before your trip, check whether the bathing area and rentals will be open on your travel dates. There is also a high ropes course near the shore on Spacerowa Street.

Cycling and outdoor activities

The green-marked Dolina Krasnej cycling route starts in Sielpia. Within the wider Końskie destination, the 45-kilometre circular cycling route “Rowerem dookoła Końskich” also starts and ends in Sielpia. Surface conditions may vary along this circuit; check the route surface before setting out.

The wider Końskie destination has three Nordic walking routes in Sielpia. Special poles can be borrowed free of charge from the local Ośrodek Sportu i Rekreacji. Check availability again before your trip.

Organised kayak trips in the wider Końskie destination run from Sielpia along the Czarna Konecka for about six kilometres to Jacentów, beyond the bridge. The route passes through protected Natura 2000 areas. Trips operate seasonally and must be booked in advance; check the dates and reserve in good time.

Industrial history and culture in the wider Końskie destination

The Museum of the Industrial Complex in Sielpia officially reopened in 1962 as Muzeum Zagłębia Staropolskiego. It is not accessible during renovation.

Końskie is a county town in the northern part of Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. The “Szlakiem zabytków i miejsc pamięci” walking route is a circuit through the streets of Końskie, with historic buildings, monuments and memorial plaques along the way. The present-day appearance of the Kolegiata św. Mikołaja i Wojciecha in Końskie took shape through alterations made in 1492–1520 and 1902–1903.

The fortified manor house in Modliszewice is located in Końskie Municipality and is one of the attractions along the “Rowerowego Szlaku Architektury Obronnej po Województwie Świętokrzyskim”. The manor house stands on an island bordered by a pond to the south and a moat to the north.

The palace and park complex in Końskie includes palace wings with pavilions, a gloriette, a Greek temple and an Egyptian orangery. The complex also includes a gazebo, a chapel, the “Domek Wnuczętów”, an enclosure flanked by towers, and a park with historic trees.
