The Museum of the Battles for the Pomeranian Wall is located in the cultural centre. Since 2011, it has also had a room devoted to the history of military aviation. Other points of interest include a church with historic features, several monuments and circular hiking trails. Miroslawiec can therefore be explored through its culture and history as well as its landscape.

Culture and Local History

The Regional European Bison Centre in Miroslawiec is also run by the cultural centre. The Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in 1721 by the von Blankenburg family. Inside are an 18th-century baptismal font and a choir loft. The von Blankenburg family is also associated with the family cemetery on GĂłra Piaskowa, which dates from the 19th century. The Wedel castle courtyard is another historic landmark: it dates from around 1375 and is surrounded by a wet moat. The cemetery is later in date than the church.

Monuments and Memorial Sites

Several monuments commemorate different aspects of Miroslawiec’s history. The T-34/85 tank monument honours the soldiers who fell in the battle for the town in 1945. The SU-22 aircraft monument commemorates the residents’ 58-year connection with military aviation. The monument to Our Lady of Loreto has a different focus: it commemorates all the aviators who served and continue to serve in Polish skies. This distinguishes the memorial to those who fell in 1945 from the two aviation-related memorials.

Landscape and Circular Hiking Trail

Miroslawiec lies in a broad depression. The town is surrounded by the picturesque valleys of the Korytnica streams and by wooded, hilly areas. Both stream valleys and wooded hills are characteristic of the surrounding landscape.

On the blue circular trail, the final stretch passes through the town centre and offers the opportunity to visit the ruins of Wedel Castle. Check in advance whether a visit is currently possible.

The swimming area on Lake Kosiakowo, also known as Lake Korytnickie, is within the municipality of Miroslawiec and is open to the public. Opening times and facilities may change with the seasons; check both before your visit.
