Nine ski slopes at the “Tanay” complex and the Lobanov family estate in Plotnikovo offer different ways to enjoy a stay in Promyshlennovsky District. At “Tanay,” winter sports and nature experiences take center stage; the estate gives guests a glimpse of rural life. When planning your trip, you can decide which of these themes interests you most.

“Tanay”: Ski Slopes, Wildlife Park, and Nature Trails

The “Tanay” complex has nine ski slopes of varying difficulty. Two are beginner slopes; together, the slopes are 9.6 km long. The number of runs, their varying difficulty, and the stated total length give a concrete idea of the winter sports on offer, without suggesting that all the slopes are alike.

The ski area also has a 300 m snow tubing run. Check whether it is currently available before your visit. The complex also includes a wildlife park, which has seasonal opening hours. Take these into account when planning your visit.

Two ecological educational trails have opened on the grounds of the “Tanay” eco-complex. If you would like to include them in your plans, check in advance whether the trails are currently accessible. This lets you weigh up winter sports, a possible visit to the wildlife park, and the educational trails as different interests for your stay.

Rural Life in Plotnikovo

The Lobanov family estate, “Usadba Lobanovykh,” is located in Plotnikovo and is a landmark of Promyshlennovsky District. Guests at the agritourism complex can experience rural life in a detached log cabin. This is quite different from winter sports at “Tanay”: here, the focus is on a glimpse of life in the countryside.

When planning your stay around these themes, you can first decide whether you are more interested in activities at the “Tanay” complex or the estate in Plotnikovo. These two themes offer different starting points for planning your trip, without implying a particular order or that they form a combined excursion.

Another rafting route in Shorsky National Park is the “Verkhnyaya Mrassu,” with small rapids and riffles rated Category I and II. The main points of comparison are the different information given about duration and conditions: for “Srednyaya Mrassu,” a weather-dependent minimum duration is specified; for “Verkhnyaya Mrassu,” water conditions and duration depend on participants’ experience and the water level. Check current park rules and route conditions before your trip.

Tomskaya Pisanitsa is also part of the wider destination of Kemerovo Oblast. The museum-reserve covers 156 hectares of pine forest on the banks of the Tom River and is a cultural monument of federal significance. It is one of the best-known and most significant sites of rock art in Western Siberia. Three hundred rock images were left at places considered sacred; the oldest depictions are 4,000 years old. Since its early years, Tomskaya Pisanitsa has also hosted historical, ethnographic, and folkloric events and festivals.

At the “Shorskiy Ulus Kezek” complex near Tomskaya Pisanitsa, the homestead of a wealthy Shor has been reconstructed. The buildings are original structures from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. At the “Selskiy Dvorik” petting zoo, visitors can feed domestic goats, sheep, rabbits, chickens, geese, and ducks. This part of the wider destination thus combines archaeological and ethnographic experiences with close encounters with animals.

In Novokuznetsk, the wider destination of Kemerovo Oblast is home to the Kuznetsk Fortress, a federal monument to history, military engineering, and architecture. The fortress includes a permanent archaeological exhibition on the region’s early history, as well as halls for temporary exhibitions.
