Campana Partido: Wetlands, Delta and Wine
Accommodation in Campana Partido
Parque Nacional Ciervo de los Pantanos protects a valuable ecosystem of wetlands, grasslands and riparian forests across more than 5,000 hectares in Campana Partido. The same partido is also home to Delta Campanense, which you can explore by boat from Puerto de Campana. Hikes and cycling through the wetland landscape can therefore be combined with exploring the delta on the water.
Wetland trails and cycling route
Parque Nacional Ciervo de los Pantanos has three trails, each almost two kilometers long. They lead to two viewpoints with panoramic views over the wetland. You can hike them independently or with an expert guide. If you prefer to go at your own pace, you can walk the trails independently; expert guidance is also available if you prefer it.
Another option is the five-kilometer Camino Islas Malvinas. It connects Estación Rómulo Otamendi with the Costa del Paraná landing and can be cycled through the wetland. At five kilometers, it is longer than any one of the national park's trails, which are each almost two kilometers long. This lets you choose between hiking on the park trails and cycling along the Camino, depending on the distance and type of activity you prefer.
Explore Delta Campanense from the water
Delta Campanense includes the RĂo Paraná de las Palmas, the RĂo Carabelas and the RĂo Paraná GuazĂş. It also includes the streams Arroyo Las Piedras, Arroyo Negro and Arroyo Las Rosas, as well as the Irigoyen, Alem, Laurentino Comas and Zorrilla canals. The delta covers 577 km² and has more than 1,500 residents. If you would like to discover this aquatic landscape, you can explore it by boat from Puerto de Campana.
The national park trails and a boat trip through the delta offer different perspectives on the wetlands and waterways of the partido. When planning your trip, you can first decide whether you would rather hike, cycle or experience the delta from the water.
Wine experiences and railway history in Campana
In the town of Campana, Bodega Gamboa offers several ways to visit: picnics among the vines, wine and cheese tastings, guided tours and the chance to take part in the grape harvest. The offerings include tastings and tours, as well as the opportunity to join the harvest.
The Museo Ferroviario reveals another side of the town. In its forecourt stands the “Córdoba” locomotive, which comes from the quarries of Alta Gracia. The exhibit connects the railway museum with a place of origin outside Campana.
Camping Recreo Blondeau
Camping Recreo Blondeau is a recreational center that has been operating for more than 100 years. It is accessible by passenger boat and is 18 kilometers from the port of Campana. When planning a visit, you can take into account both the stated distance and its accessibility by passenger boat.
