When planning a stay in Crespo, you can choose between different interests: historic sites, a museum and the Fiesta Nacional de la Avicultura sit alongside green spaces focused on nature and the environment. If you are looking for a hotel, first consider whether local history, birdwatching or an activity for children will shape your trip. The following places can help you choose your destination and plan how to spend your time.

Railway History, Museum and Festival

La Vieja Estación is closely linked to the founding of Crespo: it was the first railway station, around which the city grew. Its architectural heritage has also been officially recognised: under Ordinance 22/97, the building’s parts were declared municipal historic monuments, and Decree 3112/19 declared them part of the architectural heritage of the Province of Entre Ríos. If you are interested in the town’s history, you will find both a connection to the city’s founding and a tangible story of heritage designation here.

The Museo Municipal del Centenario is housed in the former home of Francisco Goette and Bárbara Rausch, who belonged to one of the founding families of Aldea San José. The museum has a historical and regional focus and hosts travelling exhibitions throughout the year. Together with La Vieja Estación, it offers another perspective on the past: the house is associated with a founding family, while the station is linked to the origins of the city.

Crespo’s cultural traditions also include the Fiesta Nacional de la Avicultura. Its first edition took place in October 1964; the festival is a tourist and cultural attraction at both provincial and national level. It is therefore a distinct cultural focus to consider when planning your trip, alongside the historic buildings and the museum.

Green Spaces, Birdlife and Environmental Education

The Eco-Jardín Educativo y Vivero is a 10,000 m² green space with paths, QR-code signs, a bivouac area and an agroecological garden. Its vegetation attracts a diverse range of wildlife; the site is especially interesting for birdwatching and bird photography. If you want to explore nature, the focus here is on plant and animal life.

The Parque Ambiental has a different focus: this three-hectare site is designed as an open-air classroom where concepts of environmental protection and care are taught. Guided tours explain the park’s different areas as well as waste treatment and recycling processes. The Eco-Jardín highlights vegetation and birdlife, while the Parque Ambiental focuses on environmental issues and practical treatment processes.

For visits to the Eco-JardĂn, a municipal notice dated April 15, 2025, stated that prior telephone coordination was required for the general public and educational institutions, Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Before you arrive, check whether these hours and the advance coordination requirement are still in effect.

A Dedicated Activity for Children

Parque Infantil Evita is a green space with games and entertainment for children. It adds a clearly child-focused option to the historical and ecological themes. If children are part of your travel group, you can consider this park as a potential activity in its own right, rather than grouping it with the environmental learning sites or visits to historic buildings.

The Túnel Subfluvial Raúl Uranga-Carlos Sylvestre Begnis is one of the main access routes to Crespo.
