Regional location and events
Piedra del Águila is located on Ruta Nacional 237, almost halfway between Bariloche, San Martín de los Andes, and the provincial capital, Neuquén. The town is also presented as a gateway to the Patagonian Lakes corridor.
Piedra del Águila’s tourist offerings include the Fiesta Provincial de las Marrones Migratorias. It takes place every year toward the end of the summer season.
In the Departamento Collón Curá, the Fiesta Provincial del Agua Mineral is held annually in February in Santo Tomás. The festival brings together livestock farmers, artisans, and producers from the region, who present textiles, leather goods, and goat meat raised with mineral water.
