For a trip to Llao Llao, nature, trails, boat excursions and cultural sites are distinct interests to explore. Llao Llao Municipal Park is a protected area covering more than 1,200 hectares. On the Llao Llao Peninsula, Puerto Pañuelo is the starting point for various boat excursions on Nahuel Huapi Lake.

Mixed forest and commonly sighted birds

A temperate mixed forest of coihue and cypress trees grows in the Municipal Park. The birdlife can also be described specifically: chucao, huet-huet and common thornbird are frequently sighted in the park. In Llao Llao, both the forest and birdwatching are therefore key nature themes. If you are interested in the natural surroundings, you can explore the park from these two perspectives: its vegetation and the species frequently seen there.

Visitor trails in the Municipal Park

The park’s visitor trails include Sendero Arrayanes – Bosque de Arrayanes y Lago Moreno and Sendero Puente Romano-Mirador Tacul. Their names differ in the landmarks they refer to: the first names Bosque de Arrayanes and Lago Moreno, while the second names Puente Romano and Mirador Tacul. When choosing a trail, you can use the places in its name as a guide and distinguish the two routes in your plans. Near Llao Llao, there is a viewpoint on the Circuito Chico at kilometer 40. It adds another specific landmark along the route to the visitor trails in the park.

Boat excursions and cultural sites

Puerto Pañuelo is on the Llao Llao Peninsula and is the starting point for various boat excursions on Nahuel Huapi Lake. If you plan an excursion on the lake, check departure information in advance. The Capilla San Eduardo is also located in the Llao Llao area, within Nahuel Huapi National Park. The Tacul-Cheuque community can also be visited in Llao Llao Municipal Park; part of its ancestral territory lies within the park. The chapel and the community are two distinct cultural points of reference within the named protected areas.
