In the Constitución Department, protected landscapes, historic sites, and urban cultural attractions come together. The Isla del Sol Nature Reserve is located in Villa Constitución; Oratorio Morante and the city’s attractions offer further distinctive highlights. This lets you tailor your trip to different interests without conflating the places or their particular features.

Nature and History on Isla del Sol

The Isla del Sol Nature Reserve is a protected natural area in Villa Constitución. Its natural value stems from its place within the Río Paraná wetland system and the diversity of its native flora and fauna. For nature enthusiasts, both the wetlands and the native plant and animal life are key attractions.

A historic railway branch runs across the island. It is 1,800 meters long and forms an embankment built by the English in 1931. This combination of railway history and landscape gives the visit a specific historical context. Guided tours are primarily intended for school groups, but are generally open to the public as well. They are free of charge by prior arrangement. Arrange your visit in advance; tour arrangements may change.

Oratorio Morante and the Camino Real

The Capilla Oratorio Morante was built in the 18th century and is part of the Camino Real. Villa Constitución’s tourist attractions include a religious route featuring the historic Oratorio Morante. The route is associated with Villa Constitución; Oratorio Morante itself should be regarded as a separate location.

The Feast of Our Lady of Remedies takes place in Oratorio Morante on the second Sunday of September each year. The program includes a Mass, a procession, and a parade of traditional groups. This annual celebration combines religious tradition with a regular date in the calendar; individual arrangements may change. Before traveling for the event, check the specific date and whether it will take place.

Directions to Oratorio Morante lead from the Buenos Aires–Rosario highway at kilometer 245, then along the road heading west from Villa Constitución to Melincué. The turnoff is about 20 kilometers farther on. Check the route locally before traveling.

Buoy 366 is a reference point for access from the Río Paraná in Villa Constitución. The city’s tourist attractions also include a railway museum and a railway promenade, as well as the rural routes “La Patria como Anfitrión, batallas de Pavón” and “Tierra de luchas Sociales, Grito de Alcorta.”
