Melincué offers several starting points for planning a trip: nature and birdlife at Laguna Melincué, activities on foot or by kayak, and the historic Mangrullo.

Laguna Melincué: Wetland, Birdlife and Kayaks

Laguna Melincué is part of a wetland ecosystem designated as a Ramsar site. It is home to large populations of ducks and other birds from other regions, including the Andean flamingo. Visitors interested in birdlife can include this aspect in their trip plans. Kayaks are available for rent at Laguna Melincué, making it possible to enjoy an activity on the water as well. Birdwatching and kayaking offer different focuses: an interest in nature on the one hand, and activity on the water on the other. If kayak rental is important to your plans, check availability in advance.

Hiking, Running and Jogging

Melincué has trails and places for hiking, running or jogging. This complements kayak rentals with opportunities for activity on land. During your stay, you can decide whether to focus more on trails and running activities or on spending time on the water.

Mangrullo and Fiesta Nacional del Asado a la Estaca

The Mangrullo de Melincué was declared a National Monument in 1944 by Decree No. 26.250/44. It is a specific local landmark for a trip that takes in history as well as nature. Melincué’s events calendar lists the Fiesta Nacional del Asado a la Estaca in April. If you are planning your trip around this festival, check the dates before making plans.
