Almussafes can be explored through several themes: Torre Razef represents local history and Almohad military architecture, former mills preserve visible traces of industrial history, and walking routes and dishes offer further ways to discover the town. If you are looking for a hotel in Almussafes, these highlights can help shape your plans: cultural heritage, getting around the town and food culture appeal to different interests.

Planning your stay

The Almussafes tourist information office is located in the Centre Cultural at Avinguda d’Ausiàs March 39. It is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 22:00; weekend access depends on the activities taking place. Check the details before you arrive.

History and architecture

Torre Razef is classified as a Bien de Interés Cultural (BIC) and is an example of Almohad military architecture. During a visit, you can learn about the origins of Almussafes, important historical events, the tower’s architectural development and its changing uses; check the visiting details in advance. Casa d’Ayora was remodeled in the French Neoclassical style, which shapes both its exterior and interior. The Church of Sant Bertomeu Apòstol was built in 1788. Together, these sites offer a glimpse of an architectural style and a precisely dated church building.

Mills and industrial history

MolĂ de GalĂ was the first mill built in the municipality of Almussafes. Part of its original structure remains visible beside a modern industrial rice complex; the site is within an industrial complex. MolĂ de Blat was built in 1856. Its building is reminiscent of rural structures known as masies and is now a residential property. Part of MolĂ del Carmen is also still visible, in the industrial area around the Ford factory in Almussafes.

Walking routes and green spaces

Avinguda de la Foia is a promenade used daily for walking and cycling, with access to two former mills. When planning a visit, it is important to note the distinction: public access to the mills is restricted or unclear, even though they can be reached from the promenade. Parc Central is one of the twelve green spaces in Almussafes.
