Duved: Cross-Country Trails, Slopes and History

Duved combines winter sports with a clearly recognizable historical side. In winter, you can distinguish between the alpine activities in the Duved and Tegefjäll ski area and the trails at the Duved Cross-Country Arena. The church, Karolinermonumentet and Duved skans offer different points of interest.

Winter sports: slopes, snow park and cross-country skiing

The Duved and Tegefjäll ski area lies at the foot of Mullfjället in western Åredalen. The slopes there are mostly red and blue. Duved also has a quiet beginner area with a drag lift and magic carpet. The snow park includes jumps, rails and moguls; it opened in the 2022/23 season. The slopes, beginner area and park features describe different parts of the alpine offering. The Duved Cross-Country Arena offers five different trails, with a total distance of just under 40 kilometres. Both skating and classic cross-country skiing are possible there. Duved also has a 400-metre technique and sprint track with turns, rollers and short but steep climbs. This means you can distinguish between a trail network with five routes and a much shorter track with specific technical features. Rail connections and travel planning

Duved station is on the Mittbanan line and is served by Norrtåg trains to Sundsvall, Östersund, Åre and Storlien. Check the current timetable when planning your specific journey. Church, monument and Duved skans

Duved Church was inaugurated in 1894 and is a wooden cathedral with 900 seats. The Karolinermonumentet in Duved was inaugurated in 1892. It commemorates the men who died on the march across the mountain border and was designed by Ferdinand Boberg. Duved skans was built in 1700 during the Great Northern War and played a central role in the war.

The dates mark different events: 1700 is the year Duved skans was built, while 1892 and 1894 are the inauguration years of the monument and church. Together, the three sites represent different historical connections: the role of Duved skans in the war, the commemoration of those who died on the march across the mountain border, and a church building with a clearly stated architectural style and seating capacity.
