By 1520 at the latest, a wooden chapel stood at the present site of Klövsjö Church. The church itself was built between 1795 and 1797 by master builder Pål Persson from Stugun. Its black sheet-metal roof is also noteworthy: it is considered unique, as few roofs of this kind remain in Sweden, particularly in Jämtland. At Hembygdsgården Tomtan, the stories of the buildings date back to the 17th century. A visit offers a chance to explore different aspects of local history without conflating the dates of the chapel, church and farmstead.
