First consider whether snow activities, a particular route, a tasting or a visit with a historical connection should shape your stay. The features of the area offer different points of reference, from route details with approximate times to visits that must be arranged in advance.

Winter activities and trails in the snow

The Téléski de Nods ski area has two red and two blue runs with a combined length of 2 km. The area also has a 270 m-long bobsleigh and sledging run open to everyone. At the Nods-Chasseral station, you can ski, ride a bobsleigh and snowboard. The slopes and sledging run are seasonal activities, and snow conditions also vary by season. So take the time of year into account when planning your trip. The Parcours de Nods snowshoe trail starts and ends in Nods. This gives you the option of a trail beginning and ending in the village, alongside the snow activities at the ski area.

Routes, elevations and scenery

The Parcours de Nods is 6 km long and takes about 2 hours and 55 minutes. It reaches an elevation of approximately 1,200 m and offers views of the Plateau de Diesse and the Alps in a wooded setting. The approximate duration and route length provide a time frame; the elevation and the views mentioned describe another aspect of this route.

The Circuit Nods - Le Caillou runs from the Parking de Nods through typical Jura landscapes and forests to the Prés-Vaillons. The Circuit Nods - Le Caillou cross-country skiing trail is located at Le Caillou, at the far end of the Prés-Vaillons. The Sentier de la crête de Chasseral is a short themed trail from the hotel to the highest point of the ridge and follows the watershed. Its most distinctive section is protected with pieces of wood because it is home to delicate plants.

The trails on Mont Sujet and Chasseral also offer different landscape themes. The ViaBerna stage from Nods to Magglingen leads from the foot of Chasseral over the ridge of Mont Sujet. On the «Par dessus le Mont-Sujet» trail, the summit plateau of Mont Sujet stands out for its particularly rich flora and fauna; the route also features wooden sculptures and a rock fresco. Conditions may vary with the seasons. On the southern side of Chasseral, there are numerous mountain biking opportunities among forests and wooded pastures.

Cheese, crafts and horse rides

The Forge de Nods is a heritage treasure dating from 1876. Numerous machines from the late 19th and early 20th centuries are still preserved in the present-day building. The forge has a blacksmith’s workshop with tools and machines, as well as a demonstration; visits must be arranged on request.

The Fromagerie de Nods makes cheese and dairy products exclusively from high-quality raw milk supplied by producers in the village. You can sample products there at any time during opening hours. Check the opening hours before your visit if the tasting is important to your plans.

The Poney Ranch is on the southern slope of Chasseral at an elevation of 900 m. It offers horse or pony rides for adults and children; reservations are required. Together with the seasonal winter activities and routes with specific distances, times or destinations, this provides a range of reasons to look for a hotel in Nods.
