Fuldera: Hiking, Cross-Country Skiing and Culture

Fuldera offers a range of options to consider when planning your trip: trails along the Rombach, a cross-country ski loop and a cultural venue in the former schoolhouse. The village lies between the Rombach and larch forests; an alder floodplain forest is located near the stream. Nature, outdoor activity and culture each offer a different focus. Depending on when you travel, you can make the hiking trails, the ski trail or the Chastè da Cultura programme the centrepiece of your visit.

Hiking Trails and Landscape

The «A la riva dal Rom» hiking trail is marked with signposts numbered 801. It begins at the source of the Rombach in Süsom-Tschierv and leads to Müstair; one section runs from Fuldera Furom to Valchava. The trail passes fens and stream cascades, as well as floodplains along the lower reaches of the river. The hike can be split into stages; the Fuldera Furom–Valchava section is a specifically named part of the trail. You can therefore consider the full route and this section as different planning options. Individual sections may be affected by conditions; check the current situation before setting out.

The Promenada above Fuldera offers a different perspective. Five benches display works by pastor and poet William Wolfensberger and provide an opportunity to enjoy the view. While «A la riva dal Rom» features fens, stream cascades, floodplains and the option to plan the route in stages, the Promenada focuses on literary works and views. The two trails therefore offer different highlights for planning your outing.

Cross-Country Skiing in Winter

The «4 Palüds Fuldera – Rundlopie ‹La pitschna›» cross-country ski loop is rated easy and is 1.5 km long. The distance and rating give you two different points of reference: the length indicates the extent of the loop, while the classification indicates its stated level of difficulty. Snow conditions and operation are seasonal; check current conditions before setting out.

Art and Culture at the Chastè da Cultura

The Chastè da Cultura is located in Fuldera’s old schoolhouse. It is a place for art, culture and meeting others; visitors are welcome. The programme includes theatre and cabaret, concerts, art exhibitions and various courses. It therefore offers a range of formats, from performances and music to exhibitions and courses. Getting to the Themed Trail

The starting point of the «Senda da l'uors» themed trail can be reached by PostBus from Zernez or Müstair via the Fuldera d'Aint stop. If you are planning to travel by public transport, check the timetable before your trip, as it may change seasonally.
