Accommodation in Tschiertschen
When searching for hotels in Tschiertschen, you can consider which aspects of the village you want to shape your trip. The mountain village is located in the Schanfigg and offers sweeping views across the valley. It is considered a traditional Schanfigg Walser village; a walk around the village reveals well-preserved wooden houses. There are also hiking trails, seasonal activities and historic buildings.
Walser Village and Historic Buildings
Tschiertschen Church dates back to the 14th century and is part of the historic village centre. Inside are 15th-century wall paintings, uncovered during renovation work in 2012. The organ is also remarkable: the church houses one of the last and also one of the largest so-called Toggenburg house organs. The architecture, paintings and organ give the village centre several distinct historical facets.
Another testament to local history is the Alti Sagi Tschiertschen. The historic sawmill was built in 1920 and renovated in 1989. Visits can be arranged for groups of five or more. If you would like to plan a visit, factor in the need to make arrangements when planning your trip.
