Discover Cedar Lake by the Lake
Accommodation in Cedar Lake
Cedar Lake is a town on a 794-acre lake. The lakeshore, municipal open spaces, and public recreational amenities give visitors several specific points of interest. When planning your trip, it helps to distinguish between the beach and shoreline, the various park facilities, and event-related occasions. This makes it easier to decide whether your main interest is spending time by the water, visiting a park, attending a community event, or exploring a historical connection.
Shoreline and Town Complex
The Town Complex is located at Morse Street and Constitution Avenue. It offers 18 acres of parks and open space, along with more than 500 feet of lakeshore. This brings municipal open spaces and the lakeshore together in one clearly identified area. Cedar Lake also has a public beach that is open for use. A large parking lot is located in the center of the Town Complex.
Parks with Different Features
The parks differ in the amenities they offer. The Park of the Red Cedars has a playground and a bandstand, as well as shelters and a pavilion. Kiwanis Dog Park has equipment for obedience and agility activities, along with an area for small dogs. This gives you a clear basis for comparison when planning: one park focuses on a playground, stage, and other facilities, while the other offers the dog activities and small-dog area mentioned above. Which of these differences matters for your visit depends on what you want to do in Cedar Lake.
Events, Market, and Excursion
The Town Complex hosts the annual SummerFest. Movies in the Park is another community event in Cedar Lake. The 2026 Cedar Lake Farmer's Market season was scheduled to run from May 13 to September 23, with market days planned for the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. Dates and schedules may differ in later years. If you want to plan your visit around the market or an event, check the dates for the year you are visiting. An excursion on the Dewey Line departs from Cedar Lake Pier. If the excursion is important to your plans, check the current departure times in advance.
A Historical Note
The Museum at Lassen’s Resort is a restored historic hotel. It adds a historical connection to the recreational offerings by the lake and in the parks. Together with the public beach, the different park facilities, and community events, it gives a picture of Cedar Lake that goes beyond a single reason to visit. When choosing your destination, you can weigh these local features according to whether you are most interested in spending time by the water, a park offering, an event, or the area’s historical character.
