Accommodation in Auburn
Auburn offers several specific reasons to stay: Auburn City Park, with a play area and activities on the water; a seasonal farmers market; and summer events and stock-car races. For travel planning, the relevant days of the week and seasonal windows are especially helpful: the market, movies, and races do not follow the same schedule.
Parks and trails in the city
Auburn City Park is on Auburn Road, immediately north of US Highway 10. The park has a play area called Kid’s Zone, with swings and slides. As facilities and local access conditions may change, it is a good idea to check the latest park information before visiting.
Fishing on a catch-and-release basis, as well as canoeing and kayaking, is possible on Auburn Pond, which is located in Auburn City Park. Conditions for accessing the water may change. If you would rather walk through town, Machelski Park, at the intersection of Midland Road and Auburn Road, has a place to rest. The city therefore offers different options side by side: a play area and water activities at Auburn City Park, and a place to take a break while walking at Machelski Park.
Farmers market and summer evenings
The Auburn Farmers Market takes place from May through October at the Farmers Market Pavilion in Auburn Park. The market is scheduled for Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. These two time slots offer a clear guide for planning a market day: a late-afternoon weekday visit or a Saturday morning trip. Since the season and opening hours should be checked before traveling, it is best to compare the latest information with your travel dates.
Movies Under the Moonlight also takes place in downtown Auburn in July and August, in the parking lot of Tri City Furniture. Free family movies are shown, sponsored by local Auburn businesses. Unlike the farmers market, this event is limited to the two summer months; event dates and use of the venue may also change. So if you are planning a movie night, check the dates for your travel period.
Motorsports and shooting range
Tri-City Motor Speedway is located in Auburn, Michigan, and has a 3/8-mile clay oval track. Stock-car races take place on Fridays from late April through early September. This sets both a day of the week and a seasonal window. The schedule may change, so it is a good idea to check the latest race dates before planning your trip.
Auburn Shooting Range offers areas for rifle, pistol, and archery practice. On designated days announced in advance, the range is open to the public free of charge. An approved range officer must be present while it is in use, and a liability waiver must also be submitted to the City of Auburn. Public access days and conditions at the range may change and are weather-dependent. Check the announced dates and conditions before including the range in your stay.
Plants and statues at Warmbier Farms
Warmbier Farms seasonally offers perennials, herbs, and annual plants in its outdoor garden and nursery area. The business also displays more than 1,800 unique statues in an outdoor exhibition. The two main attractions are quite different: the plant selection is seasonal, while the statues define the outdoor space. The plants on offer and the exhibition’s inventory may change; check the latest information if you are considering adding Warmbier Farms to your plans.
