Accommodation in Fenton
Fenton offers several starting points for planning a trip: sports facilities, paved trails, fishing opportunities, and a museum in a historic house. Which places matter for your stay depends on whether you want to focus on sports facilities, time outdoors, or local history. The variety of attractions gives you specific themes to guide your search for a hotel in Fenton.
Sports Facilities and Trails
The Fenton Sports Complex has ten lighted baseball fields and one lighted soccer field. It also has batting cages, two sand volleyball courts, and two T-ball fields. The grounds also include a concession stand, a pavilion, bleachers, parking, and restrooms. The facilities accommodate several field sports, along with additional practice and gathering areas.
Fenton City Park offers a different combination: It has seven softball fields, eight soccer fields, six practice areas, and two basketball courts. Its paved trails are 1.4 miles long and intended for walking, running, cycling, and inline skating. If trail length is a factor in your planning, you can make a direct comparison with Westside Park, which has a one-mile paved trail. Westside Park also has a basketball court and a playground. Valiant Park adds a shelter, a playground, and restrooms to the options.
Greenway, Parks, and Fishing
The Meramec Greenway is a linear park along the Meramec River. The Meramec River Greenway also includes a pier made from recycled materials. Olde Towne Plaza has its own connection to the Great Rivers Greenway: It is a starting point for the Great Rivers Greenway - Fenton Trailhead Connector. Fenton therefore has both facilities with designated sports areas and places defined by their location along the river or their connection to a named trailhead.
Public fishing is available at several of the places mentioned. At Bud Weil Memorial Park, fishing is available at Bud Weil Lake; at Westside Park, it is available at Westside Lake. Fabick Nature Preserve has two lakes, where public fishing is also available. Posted conservation rules apply. These lakes and parks provide specific options if fishing is a factor in choosing your destinations.
History in Fenton
The Fenton History Museum is located in the 1906 Swantner House, one of the oldest surviving houses in Fenton. The house’s year of construction and its status give a museum visit a direct historical connection to the area. Visits are generally possible on Wednesdays or Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., as well as by appointment. As visiting arrangements may change, check the hours in advance or arrange your visit.
The site of Bud Weil Memorial Park also has a historical connection: It was part of a 60-acre property that Domijan bought in 1929. This places the park site within the history of that property.
Market and Trip Planning
The Fenton Community and Farmers' Market is held at the Meramec Greenway Pavilion in Fenton City Park. If you would like to visit the market during your stay, check the dates in advance. Its location in City Park is another specific point to consider in your plans, alongside the trails and sports facilities there.
When searching for a hotel in Fenton, you can first decide which of these topics matter most to you: sports, trails, fishing, the market, or the museum. This lets you plan your trip around the activities and places that interest you.
