Accommodation in Hilliard
In Hilliard, you can plan your stay around different interests: historic sites and technology, trails, or recreational opportunities in parks. The destinations below can help you choose the themes that fit your travel plans.
City History and Technology
Hilliard’s Station Park marks the site of a former train station and Hilliard’s original town square. The park also has splash fountains. The Early Television Museum is next to the park. According to the museum page, checked on September 6, 2026, the collection at the Early Television Museum next to Hilliard’s Station Park includes more than 150 television sets: mechanical sets from the 1920s and 1930s, early British electronic televisions from 1936 to 1939, early American electronic sets from 1939 to 1941, postwar sets from 1945 to 1958, and early color televisions from 1953 to 1957. These periods give you an overview of different stages in television history.
The Historical Village & Museum at Weaver Park is an authentic historic village in the style of the 1850s, located on the edge of Old Hilliard. Its buildings include a one-room schoolhouse, a log cabin, a train station with a caboose, a barn, a farm workshop, and a church. The Hilliard Ohio Historical Village is also on the edge of Old Hilliard. The Historical Society offers tours of Hilliard’s Historical Village at selected times; check current tour times before you arrive.
The Hilliard History Express shares local history through stories about local landmarks, significant places, and the people who shaped the city. In Old Hilliard, First Responders Park serves as a 9/11 memorial, commemorating the events with two twisted pieces of steel from the World Trade Center. Merchant Park honors the first African American family believed to have settled in what is now Hilliard. These places offer different perspectives: local development, personal stories, and remembrance.
Trails and Recreation in the Parks
Hilliard’s parks and the city offer paved trails and nature paths. Trail network details may change; if you’re planning a specific route, check the latest information. At Homestead, a three-quarter-mile paved trail connects to the 6.1-mile Heritage Rail Trail. This multi-use trail begins in Old Hilliard on Main Street and heads toward Plain City. For planning purposes, this lets you compare a shorter stretch at Homestead with a longer designated route.
Homestead also features a covered bridge, a replica train station, and two barns. These features combine a park visit with historic structures; the paved trail and connection to the Heritage Rail Trail provide an additional trail option. The Heritage Rail Trail is designed as a multi-use trail, while the shorter Homestead trail runs within the park.
The Hilliard Family Aquatic Center has a leisure pool, a lap pool, a slide pool with two slides, a lazy river, and an interactive children’s pool. Amenities and operations may change; check current information before your visit. Roger A. Reynolds Municipal Park has an 18-hole disc golf course. The park also has an inclusive playground with equipment that children with different abilities can use. Course details for the disc golf course may change.
There’s also something for dogs: Heritage Trail Park has a four-acre fenced dog park with separate areas for active and less active dogs. Along with the paved trails and nature paths, this offers a range of outdoor activities. Whether you’re interested in historic sites, a trail route, or a park amenity, the specific features of each location can help you organize your plans for Hilliard.
