Moore: Parks, Sports and Theater
Accommodation in Moore
There are several ways to shape a stay in Moore: park trails and playgrounds, indoor sports, movies, or live theater. If you’re looking for a hotel, you can start by deciding which of these activities will define your trip. The specific features of each destination make it easier to compare them: at Central Park, consider the park’s size, trail, and amphitheater; at the Station Recreation Center, the basketball courts and classes; and at the theaters, the format of each venue.
Parks and Trails
Central Park covers 51 acres. Its inclusive, train-themed playground is designed for children with a range of abilities. The park also has an amphitheater with fixed seating for 350 and a 1.39-mile Park Trail. Together, these give the park several distinct features: an inclusive playground, a permanent spectator area, and a trail of a specified length. This makes it easy to plan your visit around a particular activity rather than viewing the park as a single attraction.
Moore’s Veterans Memorial Park has a wall of honor for veterans, as well as a military-themed playground and a 0.89-mile walking trail. The length comparison is clear: the walking trail is shorter than Central Park’s 1.39-mile Park Trail. You can distinguish the two routes by their stated lengths; Veterans Memorial Park also has a different thematic focus, with its wall of honor and military design.
Indoor Sports
The Station Recreation Center complements the park trails with indoor sports. It has two large basketball gyms with full courts, as well as four half courts. A variety of group fitness classes are offered throughout the day. Class schedules may change; if you want to attend a particular class, check the latest times in advance. The gym and group classes offer different sports formats to consider when planning your visit.
Movies and Dinner Theater
For movie fans, the Moore Warren Theatre is another specific option: it has a digital IMAX screen that is six stories tall and spans more than 60 feet. The movie schedule may change; if you want to include a screening in your plans, check the current schedule in advance. The screen’s dimensions give the theater a distinctive profile alongside the offerings at the parks and the Station Recreation Center.
The Yellow Rose Dinner Theater offers a different kind of evening: it combines a homemade dinner with an original theater production and presents traditional comedies as well as Las Vegas-style revues. New shows are staged approximately every four to six weeks; this schedule may change. Menus and programming may also change, so check the current shows if you plan to make a visit a definite part of your trip. Unlike the Moore Warren Theatre, where the digital IMAX screen is the main feature, this venue combines dinner with its own stage productions.
Fourth of July Event
Celebration In the Heartland is a Fourth of July event at Buck Thomas Park. Event details may change. If this particular event is the deciding factor for your trip, check the latest dates before finalizing your plans.
