Sea Turtles and Art

Different Ways to Fish

Fishing is possible year-round on South Padre Island in the bay, offshore and in the surf. These offer three different types of fishing to choose from. The bay is home to species including redfish, speckled trout and flounder; offshore, anglers catch species including snapper, kingfish and blue marlin. The availability of these species varies by season and conditions. The types of fishing are available year-round, but that does not mean every fish species is available at all times.
